It means whatever they want it to mean. They’re the Left. They can deconstruct and reconstruct language, or pretty much anything, to mean whatever they want.
In this case, their use of “Swiftboat” is a euphemism for exaggerations and outright lies.
The low info voter will sop it up like a sponge, because in the remote recesses of their memory, they will remember how mean the Swiftboat brethren were to JFnKerry.

Bad time to bring up the Swift Boat thing.
The swift boat crews honorable service to their country in Vietnam pales in comparison to service they did for their country in2004 when they helped keep America form making a huge mistake by electing John Kerry President.
Now that John Kerry is Secretary of State, where he actually has responsibilities and job performance requirements (as opposed to being a Senator where his job consisted of showing up from time to time to vote how his staff tells him to), we are finding that John is a monumental moron who is almost totally incompetent
