Leave Bowe Bergdahl alone

By cancelling Sgt. Bergdahl’s fraudulent hero’s welcome, the citizens of his hometown have refused to serve as extras in Obama’s latest propaganda movie, ‘’I Really Love America’s Soldiers Even Though My Administration has Provided Sick Veterans With Worse Care than Dogs Receive at Animal Hospitals.’’

The next thing that should be cancelled is Obama’s attendance at the upcoming D-Day memorial celebrations. How can a president who has treated America’s veterans so shabbily for years, now stand before the world and profess to honor those same veterans?

I like Carole King and her music, but too often entertainers get swept away with a “feel good” movement, without a clue to its history or background. We don’t know if she and the other entertainers dropped out or if the city leadership just decided the better part of wisdom was to cancel, and to notify participants and entertainers.

At any rate, Ms. King is now off the hook. She may be an old timey lib, but she’s not a fool. I don’t think.

They could've found out the truth easily enough -- like the rest of us -- if they'd wanted to. Instead, the citizens of Hailey, and of Idaho in general, got caught up in the touchy-feely, gushy, emotional outpouring of the moment. I imagine they also liked the national attention they were getting, too, so they poured it on extra thick. The lesson they're now learning is the consequences of being naive.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
