Somewhere I have the photo of the new (well, 5+ years now I suppose!) “environmental” building at our zoo. Grass roof, etc. Around back there is a concrete parking area, with the A/C fans and other industrial type stuff. Five feet away is a weather station!
There is a website that has all sorts of those types of photos. Weather stations in the middle of a grassy area 10 years ago, and now with a building expansion and parking lot - in the middle of the parking lot!

I live in Minden and it seems to be getting colder. But then again I’m getting older.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was trying to find. Unless temps are being measures EXACTLY the same way the data was 100 years ago; that data is flawed.
Such a very basic thing that no one mentions.
How much of the city was paved over in the past 30 years?
The link provides backup to a reply I made to a previous GLOBULL Warming topic:
Not only the type of thermometer but the location of the official thermometer.
For example: The official temperatures were/are recorded at the Customs House in most port cities. Years ago that was on the waterfront. As piers were extended, sections of harbor filled to build warehouses and access, the Custom House was no longer on the waterfront but somewhat inland. Paved streets and buildings surround and enclose the official thermometer but it still records the official temperature for the location.
Might that have something to do with rising temperature readings?
