The Environmental Protection Agency’s draft rule to limit carbon from existing power plants is just two days old, but it’s already sparked an ad war.
The American Lung Association today will launch a national television ad buy featuring a sleeping baby drawing deep breaths, touting the fact that the regulation would close the “loophole” that allows industry to “pump unlimited carbon pollution into his air.”

My local Fox news radio affiliate station had a reporter gushing about the new EPA regulations that are finally going to solve our carbon emission problems. Hard to find a radio station that differs from NPR any more.
Um... carbon dioxide is not pollution. Given that the concentration of CO2 is in parts per million, and it only becomes difficult to breath when the concentrations reaches the percent range, I’d say that the new regulations will do squat to reduce pollution and make breathing easier.
Particulate matter (which is carbon, but not carbon dioxide) does cause problems with breathing, but regulations addressed that long ago.
This will accomplish reducing the availability of electricity and making prices skyrocket—hurting the poor the most, of course, while Obama and other rich liberals continue their luxurious lifestyles. There is simply no way to generate electricity from coal or natural gas without producing CO2—since CO2 is the end product of all use of carbon compounds, including by living things.
Carbon Pollution? Like the carbon dioxide the baby is breathing out?
