More Americans than not think the U.S. government gives better health care to militants captured in the war on terrorism than to U.S. troops who may have fought them on the battlefield.
A Fox News poll released Wednesday finds that by a 50-31 percent margin, voters think enemy combatants held at Guantanamo Bay get better health care than veterans. Nearly one in five is unsure (18 percent).

There is too much truth in that. It might be intended as sarcsm, but I find it to be something this administration may actually consider to be a good reason to give the Gitmo prisoners better healthcare...
Of course they do, who could possibly think they don’t?
24/7 monitoring by prison guards, detailed accountability, a bloodthirsty national and international press that would jump over any hint of controversy, quite frankly a vet pan-handling on the street corner while slowly dying on a VA waiting list is invisible by comparison. The latter would simply fade away without managing to embroil administrators in controversy, you’d need armies (or at least a few divisions) of dying vets before anyone bothered to take notice. However when Jihad-Joe doesn’t want to eat his falafel it’s all of a sudden an international human rights crisis.
Of course there’s also the real meat of the matter — creating a socialized health care system that tasks the same people and institutions providing health care with effectively PAYING for said care they provide results in an economic disincentive to actually provide care. The entire system becomes a balancing act between the budget available and the cost of providing care.
The VA is functionally and institutionally operating as it was designed to, it couldn’t possible be anything other than what it is. Any person that honestly thinks you can get a HIGHER level of medical care and competence by effectively making health care providers foot the bill for treatment needs to go back to coloring books and Barney songs. The only possible result of such an incentive structure is health care rationing, waiting lists, unnecessary triage decisions that trade human lives for attaining budgetary constraints, lower standards of care, lower professional standards governing administrators and medical personnel, and generous heaps of human misery wrapped up on a neat little ball of bureaucratic ass-covering.
Anyone who doesn’t get that probable shouldn’t be voting in the first place.
They certainly get better health care than the average American citizen.
Hell, th ecrooks in the US prison system are getting better health care too.
I’m sure terrorists get better care at Gitmo than our vets get at the VA. Who would think otherwise?
I think that’s how Holder really feels... he’s like some kind of monster.
This is a measurable fact. You can set opinion polls aside.
Guess that’s why Barry is so eager to empty Gitmo...
