Rahm Emanuel Asks Critics to Support Chicago-Style Gun Control for Our Nation [barf]

During a June 5 appearance on CNN's The Lead, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said if critics of his recent gun control push really want to see gun crime diminished they should join together for national gun laws like he is pushing in Chicago.

Host Jack Tapper pointed out that "critics say [the gun control laws Emanuel is] proposing will really not affect the people who are committing gun crimes in Chicago."

Tapper then asked, "Don't they have a point? The people who commit these crimes aren't going to the gun store and guying guns legally, right?"

Instead of answering the question, Emanuel said "no and yes," talked about being "under court order" to do something other than ban every gun store in the city, and then said:

For those very critics I would say... join me in making sure we have a foundation which is a national background check, a limit on one gun a month and straw purchases. So rather than criticize what we're doing, join us in the effort of passing comprehensive gun legislation nationally.

My thoughts exactly.

A smart leader would look at what Chicago has done and do the complete opposite.

Al Capone's Chicago was much, much safer than Rahm Emanuel's Chicago. In Al Capone's Chicago, you could buy a Thompson submachine gun by mail for $225.

A gun has never killed anyone, and that is an obvious fact that libs like Rahm Emanuel don't want to even think about.

Yup. Everywhere in the country we can beg the gang-bangers to go shoot innocent people “somewhere else”.

Always went along with the thought that Lieberalism is/was a Mental Disorder.

Recent events and statements from ‘Our Leaders’ and their ‘Appointed Hacks’ are telling me that we have more than One “Court Jester” on the payroll.

I submit as evidence that if you look at the severity and idiocy of some of the recent statements by ‘Officials’ that there really can’t be that many DUMB BUTTHEADS under one roof, that one ‘Agency’ must be providing the material.

I really can’t see how that woman - Susan Rice - can actually look herself in the mirror on a daily basis, much less stand in public and make some of the remarks she is ‘going down in History’ for.

This malmisadministration will definitely go down for the ‘Most Idiotic, Non-Sensical Statements’ made by one group.
For THIS Century and we have 86 years to go in the Century.

I wish, for once, one of these idiot reporters would ask a guy like Emanuel if ‘Chicago-style gun control for the nation’ would also lead to Chicago-style homicide rates for the nation, too.

Feel good legislation, nothing more. Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities in the country and Rahms laws have done nothing to slow down the wars between the gangs. (why don't you work on that Rahm ?)

A citizen has a right to protect his loved ones and property as well as himself and he will do just that.

Rahm would turn this citizen into a “criminal”

No Rahm, your wrong

That’s a great liberal plan. If we all adopted Chicago’s gun laws, we could all have Chicago’s crime rate.

according to www.heyjackass.com, Chicago has had 139 Shot and Killed, 747 Shot and Wounded, and 161 Homicides. Way to go Rahm, keep up the good work. BTW, check out the website, pretty funny way to highlight the honor student of the week.

If we lose one more Justice in the Supreme Court, the Bill of Rights will be interpreted into oblivion.
