EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy put herself at the mercy of the Internet on Wednesday by taking part in a question-and-answer session on the popular forum reddit.
"Ask Me Anything," McCarthy wrote. reddit's users obliged.
The account Gina_EPA, endorsed by McCarthy's Twitter account and the EPA website as authentic, answered 15 questions over the span of two hours.
Many users seemed underwhelmed by her responses.

Excellent to see this hack being exposed on reddit.
BTW, did you notice she said the EPA would help WV “understand what their goal is”? See that? Big Daddy Gubmint will give you peons a GOAL to meet....you aren’t capable of managing yourself.
Some of the comments at the source are priceless..”if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a question”
“BTW, did you notice she said the EPA would help WV understand what their goal is? See that? Big Daddy Gubmint will give you peons a GOAL to meet....you arent capable of managing yourself.”
This is because the people who live there, pay taxes, go into the military are ignorant and need guidance on how to live their simple, meaningless lives...the sheer degree of contempt these bureaucrats have for the peons is incredible.
Totally underwhelming. Just another commie part of the chicago thugocracy.
It looks like they’re using a bot to answer the questions. No specifics or follow-up were addressed. She’s a hack and they simply took her apart.
Another affirmative action hire by this president revealing her gross incompetence in office.
This administration always trying to be the cool kids in school and end up showing their incompetence and arrogance.
Pray America wakes up
” she said the EPA would help WV understand what their goal is?”
Yeah, I caught that.
I suppose back in the 70s, the Ohio epa cautioned folks not to eat certain fish from the Tuscarawas River. It is still telling us the same. Fourty some years and I still can’t eat a cat fish. Another essential, helpful, government agency. Such a waste.

EPA sets the standards and then each state determines how the standards will be met in that state. This is done by each state developing an environmental plan that must be submitted to and approved by EPA.
To achieve the standards, there will be wide variation between the plans that each state develops.
Texas is already half way there because they generate a lot of power from nat gas and wind. But Kentucky relies mostly on coal. So the Texas plan will be very different from the Kentucky plan.
Did she really say that?
Is this for real? I see someone put a “hoax” tag on this thread.
If she actually went on reddit, boy, I don’t even have enough sarcasm for that, but I’ll try anyway, “Gee, what an intelligent decision!!!!!!”
“Hoax” is a common tag for climate change articles.
Did I really have to put a /s? She didn't say it but it's not a stretch to say she thinks it.
Ah, thanks.
Wow, so she's a rocket scientist I guess. Feel the wrath of the Internet, Gina.
Electric grids are designed with changes in mind. From baseline power to peak producers, all must work together to keep the power flowing.
Making one leg of the equation untenable does not help in the primary goal of providing power to the citizens that pay for the power.
Power that is used for each of us to live in a first world country.
How does the EPA propose to manage the pollution from China that blows across the Pacific to the West Coast? They don't - but still make CA, OR and WA meet these goals.
That is the primary challenge to the EPA rules - just have the tyrants in charge change the “standard” just a bit, and another leg of the power production cycle goes dark.
I have two questions: 1. If we fall short of our quotas under the Five Year Plan, can we blame it on the weather or capitalist spies, saboteurs, and wreckers, and 2. How many years in the gulags will the State Justice Organs assign to these wreckers when they are caught and confess (and, we KNOW they will!)?
Thanking you in advance for your helpful answers...!"
