VIDEO: South Carolina U.S. Senate, Republican Debate

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections; US: South Carolina
KEYWORDS:
Several good possibilities to replace Lindsey Graham who did less than his best in this "debate". I saw four I could vote for and who would win in the November elections if supported by the Republican Party, which is not likely when Graham is eventually denied renomination.

Lindsey, sweetie. You’re not part of the solution. You’re part of the problem.

We’ve gotten $17+ trillion more in debt since you’ve been there.

Go home, Lindsey!!!

I live in Alabama and haven’t followed this race but I am listening to the debate.

This guy Lee Bright has impressed me so far. Lindsey is clueless.

Graham is presenting himself as such a conservative, I look for him to pull out a cup of Tea for Party.

Sounds like 2 of the challengers are running against Graham’s tenure, as much as anything — he’s been there too long.

Gramnesty plays the Reagan card — “I’m a Reagan republican.”

Claims they have put more border patrol on the border and improved technology.

The quality of the opponents varies. Some appear very good. Some not so much so. The hope is that each appeals to enough different people to keep Senator Weasel below 50% in the primary.

There are so many candidates on the stage that Gramnesty is getting very little talk-time.

[Moderators are not interrupting nor editoralizing. They are letting the candidates speak. RNC should consider these types of mods for the GOP primary debates in 2016.]

Graham says to secure the border first. [Yawwwwwwn. I would not trust him to secure it. He has made little effort so far in his tenure.]

You are precisely correct. In the run-off three weeks after Tuesday June 10th Primary, vote for whomever isn’t Lindsey Graham.

Richard Cash is the one to beat L.G.
He is concise, on target, calls a spade a spade, no qualms. He knows what he is talking about and has no outside agenda but to get Graham out of office to get SC back on track leading the nation in conservancy. God and Country, the people’s Republic, protecting our state from all federal institutions.

A Reagan Republican would not have voted to confirm BOTH Kagan and Sotomayor.

Doofus.

I cringe a bit every time Nancy Mace speaks. Most of the rest of Graham’s opponents seem to be smooth, comfortable, and able to make a relatively compelling case for their views.

I just watched the debate on fast-forward/double speed (with a special program I have). Here’s what I noticed: out of all the candidates, only Graham swayed from side to side and was very nervous throughout the debate. I too had higher hopes for Nancy. There was just no passion there. I liked the military guy to the right of Graham (sutton?) and Cash...just from my brief view of their speaking and oratory skills, which we all know is not necessarily all that it’s cracked up to be.

I’ve followed Bright for a couple of years now, and he is a true Conservative. He sponsored a bill here allowing open carry, but leftist Glenn Reese of Spartanburg and his cohorts played stupid and the bill failed.

I disagree, I thought Mace stuck it to L.G. a few times, which is what all of them should have been concentrating on. That said, I will vote for Bright and encourage all my friends to just vote for “anybody but Graham”, and that should be our one liner.
