I think Obama saw the Bergdahl swap as an opportunity to divert attention away from the VA scandal, Benghazi, the Obamacare debacle, etc. It did, but not in the way he planned. He was counting on using this as another “I got Osama Bin Laden moment”, with the sheeple seeing him as a Commander in Chief who took bold, decisive action to free an American “hero” from the clutches of the Taliban. Instead, it blew up in his face. He didn’t anticipate many of Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers coming forward to describe him, in no uncertain terms, as a deserter who may very well have collaborated with the enemy. He didn’t anticipate the Taliban releasing video of Bergdahl being turned over to American control, clearly showing him to be in good health, and not at “death’s door” as described by the Obama administration. He didn’t anticipate criticism from members of his own party, including Diane Feinstein, who called his actions illegal. This is a story that the American people understand. They know that once again, Obama has lied to them big time.
I fear it goes way beyond what you describe. The following is the way I see it and explains my tagline. (Please forgive me for C&P’ing what I have posted on other threads.)
Obamugabe used the Rose Garden presser, on May 31, as a ceremony of surrender to the mohammedans. Following all of the work that the Soros Administration has done to destroy our Republic, Obama was instructed to officially hand us over to the Global Caliphate.
Bergdahl, the cracker mock-up of Osama bin Ladin, played back-up singer, with his bismallah. As he praised his satanic deity in front of what once was our White House, he dedicated the site for islam in perpetuity.
And, of course, the loyal toadies in the media broadcast the ceremony all over the world, so that the islamonazis would get the word. I am sure that there was much ululation and the passing out of sweets in the ME on that night.
