(Reuters) - The already conservative Texas Republican Party took a further turn to the right at its convention this weekend by adopting hardline positions on issues including immigration and gay rights. The conservative Tea Party branch of the party, led by U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and carrying great weight in the state, was able to shoot down a 2012 party policy known as the “Texas Solution" that would allow undocumented workers to hold jobs that go unfilled by U.S citizens.

"Like never before, our freedom is under assault. Again today, Texans will stand up and lead the fight to defend our freedom," Cruz said.

Yeah but unlike the "Night of the Living Dead," they just keep coming back!

Like liberals everywhere, RINOs never, ever give up and conservatives, when they forget this lesson, sit back, nap and lose again to the RINOs!

Thats why they must be either voted out in the primaries or voted against in the general.

We are going to lose some folks. Accept it and work harder to get good people in office. But accept that there is no painless path to purging RINOs in a timely manner that could begin to fix this mess.

I think this will be happening less and less nation-wide... and certainly here in Texas we're not going to let them forget.

“The 2014 Republican platform of more about 260 policies also calls for repealing the Voting Rights Act, supports open-carry of firearms, supports the repeal of a minimum wage, backs a U.S. withdraw from the United Nations, prohibits the sale of the morning after pill and demands the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, also known as “Obamacare”.”

All very excellent planks that should be copied into the National GOP Platform.

“conservatives, when they forget this lesson, sit back, nap and lose again to the RINOs!”

True, hopefully things are changing. The YOUNG Republicans who think they are conservative, but are teetering on the edge, are also a concern.

And the first time ONE of those things is opposed by a RINO they should be stripped of any and all power/support/funding and a recall launched against them by the party itself..

ALL.

I wish Texas and Cruz the best, but Holder and Obama are going to change the demographics, not when amnesty passes, but right now it is happening.

Here is one of the key cheap labor lobbyists getting his a** kicked by the patriots...overcoming all sorts of obstacles and tricks laid before them. Adams has blocked enforcement for session after session in TX its good that he finally got caught in the act of being a totally disrespectful and controlling buffoon that he is: http://texnat.org/index.php/news/tnm-news/2068-tnm-member-assaulted-at-rpt-convention?fb_action_ids=743588339025180&fb_action_types=og.likes

They won't drop them off here close to me, where I can drive down and get a half-dozen of the youthful invaders. I'd offer a better life, better living conditions (I have indoor plumbing... but not running hot water) and really need someone to weed part of the garden...

And fold laundry.. I don't fold, actually...

And do dishes without relying on the neighbor's dogs for the pre-wash cycle...

Texas has always been on the Mexican border and in fact had to win it’s independence from Mexico, and has exactly the same Hispanic population as California.
