Leaving an abandoned house is a lot like leaving a rotten Apple in the bunch. The rot begins to spread and before long the whole bunch is rotten.

Lots of things I don't love about liberals running the population center of my county but they do seem to be smart about eliminating the rot before it spreads. The city of Jackson is a fiscal disaster but "The Hood" has never looked better. When a house is abandoned they put it up for auction and have jail work crews out mowing grass. If the place doesn't sell they tear it down and put the lot up for auction. More often than not an adjacent lot owner buys the empty lot cheap.
