'I've Had Enough': When Democrats Quit on Obama
National Journal ^ | June 9, 2014 | Ron Fournier

Posted on 06/09/2014 3:05:10 PM PDT by Seizethecarp

The email hit my in-box at 9:41 p.m. last Wednesday. From one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington, a close adviser to the White House, the missive amounted to an electronic eye roll. "Even I have had enough."

Another Democrat had quit on President Obama.

The tipping point for this person was the Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl case—not the soldier-for-Taliban swap itself as much as how the White House mishandled its obligation to communicate effectively and honestly to Congress and the public. More than that, Obama's team had failed once again to acknowledge its mistakes, preferring to cast blame and seek cover behind talking points.

I share this email to make the broader point and to offer a disclosure: In the 18 months since I began writing columns focused on the presidency, virtually every post critical of Obama has originated from conversations with Democrats. Members of Congress, consultants, pollsters, lobbyists, and executives at think tanks, these Democrats are my Obama-whispers. They respect and admire Obama but believe that his presidency has been damaged by his shortcomings as a leader; his inattention to details of governing; his disengagement from the political process and from the public; his unwillingness to learn on the job; and his failure to surround himself with top-shelf advisers who are willing to challenge their boss as well as their own preconceived notions.

I think someone nailed this by saying that he is just showing his loyalty to Hillary by renouncing it to Obama. There will be a lot more of this until Hillary announces, then anyone who has not sworn loyalty to her will be one of her enemies.

I completely agree with you... It seems that 0bama is intentionally overstepping boundaries (EPA Carbon “polution”, releasing terrorists in violation of the law, “phone and pen” this and that, &c.) so that Dems can align against him in this lame duck presidency and dupe L.I.V.s into voting for them because they “have had enough of 0bama”.

There is one and only one way the Republicans can combat this. FILE ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT.

Everyone knows it would go anywhere because of scumbag RINOs,particularly in the Senate... but go ahead FILE ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT... and then watch the Dems squirm trying to play both sides of the fence.

Sadly... not of this will happen... the Republicans at this point can only continuously snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I have officially given up at this point... it’s far beyond time to “Go Galt”.

Obama has never had respect for the law. From his cocaine dealing days to today. Why should anyone expect anything different?

Maybe but at least we know some democrats aren’t still in the Obama is competent delusion. But of course you could tell that by lack of serous claims on their side about Obama’s great “leadership skills”.

The Democrats would not have to worry about the fence, since all impeachers by definition, design, and ontological nature are racists.

Democrats don't care about things like Obama's treason, incompetence, qualifications for office, disregard of the Constitution, rule by executive fiat, etc. None of those things matter. All that Democrats care about is moving Red State America's wealth to their constituencies, like Wall Street, affirmative action shakedowns, Obama phones, expanded Medicaid, free Astroglide for gays, free contraceptives for sluts, etc.

They're just looters. That's all they are. High-sounding rhetoric is just cover for getting the goodies to their own.

We need to keep our eye on the ball and not get distracted by this sort of thing that implies that Democrats are somehow human. They're not.

Carp, if the economy has not drastically improved by 2016; i.e., if Depression II worsens in '15-16, then the Democrats will take the WH in 2016.

The campaign will be based on "Republican Obstructionism" in the Congress the GOP will have controlled for 2 years. It is even possible that they will not WANT the WH in 2016, preferring to rule from Congress during a "Hoover" type POTUS they can kick out in 2020 ... and quite possibly forever after.

As time goes on, the Democrat plurality can only grow, with Latinos edging inexorably toward 30%+ of the population added to rock solid constituencies like the African-Americans, etc.

The big question: can the Republicans accomplish anything in the next two years with control of Congress? If they do not, the GOP is dead ... and unfortunately so might be the Republic.
