The No. 1 GOP leader and the No. 3 GOP leader in the House reacted remarkably differently Tuesday night to the stunning defeat of the No. 2 GOP leader, Eric Cantor.
House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) stuck to his usual routine by hanging out with close friends and aides at an Italian restaurant that he likes -- in part because they let him smoke in a private room.
Back at the U.S. Capitol, aides to House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) frantically huddled deep into the night. Were they plotting his next move? No one was talking.

The GOP establishment is furiously rethinking their strategy for the next election..”How can we fool the fly-over yokels into thinking we are working for them until after they vote for us?”
Boehner was going to step down in February 2015, but now folks are saying he will stay on. McCarthy is trying to be the number two.

Translation: The US Chamber of Commerce is demanding that their overpaid AMNESTY WHORES in the US House ram Cantor’s “Amnesty for Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico Bill” down our throats ASAP!
The difference between republicans and democrats is that democrats are more open and honest about their hatred for the conservative principles that built this country whereas republicans are depending on the votes of that portion of the population stupid enough to believe the lies they tell.
King got to realize if you stand for everything you stand for nothing.
Its time for true Americans to start pushing back against these yellow dogs who scurry into the corner when defending American Ideas is demanded.
the GOP make me want to vomit.
Did I see “Jeff Sessions” as a possible replacement????
YES !
I don’t see how Boehner can stay on. Don’t they have to decide among themselves who to appoint as Speaker? I don’t think he’d get much of a vote of confidence from the new House (which will most certainly have more conservative people in it).
Maybe I’ve got the procedure wrong, however. Or maybe he’s just continuing to demonstrate how clueless he is.
One set of rulers for the little people and another set of rulers for the elites. And Boehner probably wonders why the grass roots of the GOP is in revolt. Give up your private smoking room and live by the rules you and yours impose on the rest of us!
King is from the NYC area, very liberal. A GOP turning right could cost him his seat. I favor a right turning GOP but I can understand King’s concern.
Give the electorate a chance to vote AGAINST ILLEGALS and you win every time.
Hey, GOP—yooou savvey “illegal”??
Yoooou savvey “win”??? Try it sometime.
He’s in the Senate.
You mean Pete Sessions (R-TX), a RINO of the worst kind.
I was sort of kidding. Maybe Pete will be as good as Jeff???
I hope they replace Cantor with Hensarling and not McCarthy. He is just another Cantor.
