I think we can all agree that Bowe Bergdahl does not have the temperament for the military. His psyche eval should have culled him out in the beginning. Its incredible that he was discharged from the Coast Guard and then accepted into the Army.

I'm not convinced they were very picky back then.

Agree he doesn’t have temperament for military service. I can’t stop wondering why he enlisted in anything. What was he thinking?

I remember saying good riddance to an FN (E-3) at at a Coast Guard unit where his Lead Petty Officer had marked him too low to reenlist. Low and behold 89 days later he reenlisted at a Coast Guard recruiter an got the shore station he wanted to boot. Turns out the higher ups raised his marks so they wouldn't have to do the required extra paperwork because he was getting out anyway. If it's not documented, it didn't happen and services don't always, heck hardly at all, share all the paperwork. If Bowe’s DD-214 said Admin under honorable conditions I doubt an Army recruiter would get any additional info.

Yeah, if he was too much of a misfit to get along in the CG, imagine him in the Army in a combat zone.

Hmmmn.
Would the Coast Guard accept somebody thrown out of the Army?
