I know Phil Robertson. I know his beliefs, Deirdre Gurney, executive producer of A&Es breakout hit, said during The Hollywood Reporter Reality Roundtable. I know how he treats a crew that has several gay people on it.
Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson came under fire after making anti-gay remarks in December 2013, prompting A&E to temporarily suspend him. Less than a week later, A&E and the Robertson family jointly announced that Phil Robertson would remain on the series during its fifth season, with no impact on production. The immediate uproar over Robertsons incendiary comments, made during an interview with GQ, surprised producers Gurney Productions.
I dont think anyone expected it to be that kind of a reaction and get that much attention, so no one was prepared with what this really meant, what to say, Duck Dynasty executive producer Deirdre Gurney said during The Hollywood Reporter Reality Roundtable. We were out of it as the production company. When this happens with talent or the network, its really the networks job [to handle it]. We make it for them, but its their show its their job to decide how they want to handle it and what they want to do. The hard thing with that was it happened over Christmas holiday.

Robertson’s remarks were not anti-gay. His remarks promoted scripture. There is a difference.
Ms. Gurney carefully straddles the fence, because Phil and the rest of the Robertson clan have made her a very rich woman.
She also gets my vote for the Hollywood reality producer most likely to win a wet t-shirt contest.
I knew I had to click this story for some reason. thanks.
She avoided describing how Phil treats a crew with several gay people and people of different races and origins on it.
Knowing that Phil is a Godly man, I would expect it would be with kindness and charity—None of which he was afforded in the artificially created flap late last year.
“The hard thing with that was it happened over Christmas holiday.”
Yes, it was truly a trial to have all that duck merchandise flying off the shelves as folks bought it in solidarity during the Christmas season. Also, I bet the very most hardest thing was to have the season premier open to great ratings the very next month. It might be hard this year if some new ‘outrageous’ statement is disseminated from a cable reality star right who needs to be briefly suspended before the holidays yet again.

Outstanding.
“Incendiary”: the new word for Christian.
Robertson quoted a lot a stuff that's sin... he didn't cherry pick... I suspect some members of in the "I'm a victim - I'm a victim ' groups have developed extremely thin skins.
That’s hilarious!
Yeah!!!
Pingie....
