We must remember that these are desperate people who want to hold onto their positions and will do anything they can, no matter how slimy, to achieve that.
I take nothing away from Brat and his fine victory, but he was aided by 1: The conjunction (in time) of the election and crisis on the border, and 2: Cantor’s shape-shifting on immigration. He got more than a little lucky.
I believe we can take for granted that the 0bama administration will be looking goofier and goofier as time goes on, and I am not sure if that supports the “experienced” GOP candidates who cower before him or the ones who are at least talking about standing up to them. In terms of the electorate is what I am referring to.
It does NOT do good, IMHO to loudly proclaim Tea Party. There is a lot of animosity towards the TP, it’s totally irrational and manic...but it is there. Nobody needs to spend energy defending their position, they should proclaim what they can comfortably proclaim. I like how Brat associated with the TP and accepted their support but he did not carry their flag. Well done.
I hope, by whatever means, we can get a few more fine candidates like Brat in Congress. Things are getting quite chaotic in the world and we seriously need some adult supervision. And we need to get rid of these pigs of either party who are just in it for whatever they can skim before the whole thing collapses.
