Why O.J.'s Saga Lives and Trayvon's Died
American Thinker ^ | June 13, 2014 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 06/13/2014 1:13:52 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Twenty years ago this week, former football great O.J. Simpson savagely attacked and killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. The double murder and subsequent trial generated a small library of videos and books, the most recent of the latter being Kim Goldman’s, Can't Forgive: My 20-Year Battle with O.J. Simpson. I just finished Goldman’s insightful memoir yesterday. I must have read at least ten other books on the case.

A year ago this week, the trial of George Zimmerman for the murder of Trayvon Martin began in Sanford, Florida. Although not as sensational as Simpson’s, Zimmerman’s trial was arguably the most publicized and easily the most politically charged in the twenty years since. Yet to date, there have only been two books on the case, my own If I Had A Son: Race, Guns, and the Railroading of George Zimmerman and the painfully orthodox Suspicion Nation by NBC’s Lisa Bloom, neither of which got any attention. To my knowledge, there has not been a single, thoughtful, long-form essay from any major magazine, left, right, or center. The video front has been just as quiet, and I think I know why this is so.

In the past, the individuals who manned the New York-Hollywood axis and the university outposts in between -- the cultural left --tended to champion the cause of the accused. For nearly a century, from Sacco and Vanzetti to Alger Hiss to Hurricane Carter to Leonard Peltier to Mumia Abu Jamal, they would swarm a specific crime to sell the American public on the innocence of the guilty, even the conspicuously guilty....

Umm, you may want to watch ‘Capricorn 1’ sometime... Or do you mean OJ Simpson is white the way BJ Clinton is black?

“Trayvon was black. O.J. is white.”

actually I like puzzles. it might have been a typo and he meant Nicole was white. that would make sense because as much as the media whines when the victim is a minority, famous white victims (and white children) get more attention.
the other thing is that maybe the media knew too much light on Trayvon would even more so show the real truth, which they desperately tried to hide. whereas oj didn’t commit the murders based on race.

By getting away with murder, maybe he thought getting away with burglary would be a snap.

O.J. was found “Not Guilty” because Mark Fuhrman, the lead detective on the case, had used the “N” word a few decades earlier, a crime far worse than the decapitation of one’s ex-wife and the murder of her friend.

“For the first time in the history of American jurisprudence, the cultural left and its media allies conspired with the forces of government and the vestiges of the civil rights movement to put a conspicuously innocent man in prison for the rest of his life.”

Probably true, but let’s not forget the same kinds of players in the Duke Rape Hoax used the same means toward the same objective, and you can bet their bottom dollar that they wished death (whether via a trial or not) or life in prison for the accused.

In LA his jury had an average IQ of about 71.This was evidenced,to me at least,by an interview that one of the jurors gave just outside the courthouse immediately after having been released from duty after the verdict. At one point she said "I got deliberated in the back room" (her exact words). In Nevada,OTOH,the jury's average IQ was somewhere in the vicinity of 100.

And on the subject of IQ...Osama Obama's "son" was stupid enough to have brought a length of concrete sidewalk to a gunfight.

I question where Jack Cashill of American Thinker is going with this piece. The only connection the Zimmmerman trial has with the OJ Simpson trial is black reaction.
The facts are the Zimmerman trial was a myth created to fufil a political necessity. It was a black on black assult dilberately construed and misreported and embellished as a racial incident begun by the President of The United States using his “bully pulpit”.

It was done to fulfil his need to consolidate his black base voting block so that any talk of impeachment would result in riots in the streets. And it’s been successful. Cashill’s meandering comparison to the Simpson affair is an example. Because no one has the guts particularly in the pundit field to call it for what it is. As even now blacks are still using that “Treyvon” excuse created by Obama and never dis-avowed for racial attacks on others which have ended in deaths.

OJ got away with murder because of the foolish liberalism of Marcia Clark in thinking that an all black jury in downtown LA would deliver a better verdict than an all white Santa Monica jury.

She then failed to present eyewitness testimony of someone seeing OJ fleeing the scene in his white Bronco, and eyewitness testimony of OJ dumping incriminating evidence at the airport that night and instead relied on boring blood evidence.

She erroneously thought that a black jury would consider any of the blood evidence not realizing that they would dismiss it all as planted by any white man who got near enough to contaminate it with their prejudicial looks.

And the gloves — the black jury was all set ti dismiss them as belonging to the mailman if necessary.

But the coup de grace was when Fuhrman, a long time friend of OJ as a lot of people on the LAPD, when asked under oath if he planted any evidence, too the Fifth.

OJ couldn’t have asked for more help from the LAPD and prosecutor if he had asked.

And regarding the blood evidence the black jury did not even look at it before acquitting him in 4 hours.

Amen. An acquaintance who worked in the DA’s office — and coincidentally was Kato’s best friend — told me the same thing *before* the trial. As soon as the venue was changed to downtown LA, the die was cast for a “not guilty” jury nullification.

“It (The Zimmerman Trial) was done to fulfil his need to consolidate his black base voting block so that any talk of impeachment would result in riots in the streets.”

Perhaps that was the result, but as a practical matter I think that the Political Media are constantly probing to see how far that they can push “The Big Lie” onto the American Public. Criminal cases are like mini-morality plays and they serve this purpose well. The (poll) results show them how well that they can push the next slice of their legislative agenda.

IOWs, Obama’s political advisers may have decided as a result of the Zimmerman-Martin affair that they were “bullet-proof”, but I don’t think that they necessarily planned to use it that way at the outset. They couldn’t have known how it would play with the public beforehand, or what specific evidence or witnesses might suddenly pop up that might turn out to be un-impeachable.

TV is talking about the 2-th anniversary of OJ’s crap.

They keep saying he is prison in Las Vegas....

He is NOT in Las Vegas.

He is in Lovelock, about 550 miles NORTH of Las Vegas.

I wished Fuhrman would have responded something like "'N'-word"? Funny thing, I used an N-Word to describe you (Cochran, a black) to my buddies.

After the requisite gasp of horror, he'd continue, "You mean "nitwit" or "nincompoop", right?" and watch heads explode.

This president may claim he wasn’t apprized of the circumstances and facts. Or kept from the knowledge that both the victim and his youthfull attacker were both black when he ruthlessly used his “bully pulpit”. But I doubt it. The regime’s followup are the cue. Two solutions which were offered came from HUD; Both intimating Resettlement and dispersal of housing in a controlled setting (living in collectives) dependent on public transport. That may have been one of the aims of his socialist agenda. But the subsequent silence and refusal of disassociation as his incendiary pronouncements of racial instigation led to racial attacks began and are continuing despite ending in murders simply demonstrate; To correct it is of no use politically . Because he can
