(CNSNews.com) – The startling gains made by jihadist fighters in Iraq are placing the region’s already extremely vulnerable Christians in even greater peril, Christian advocacy groups are warning.
While hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are affected by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s takeover of key cities including the Ninawa (Nineveh) provincial capital, Mosul, minority Christians – some of whom trace their origins to the earliest years of Christianity – are among those with the most to lose.

They will form a welcome bulwark against Militant Islam. They understand it better than the vast majority of clueless westerners.
We can only hope and pray.
The situation reminds me of the time when Russian troops were poised to take Warsaw but waited in their tracks to allow the Nazis to kill Polish partisans inside the city, first.
Only after the city was cleared of Polish fighters did the Soviets move in.
Is the US waiting for all Christians to be murdered in Muslim lands before they move in and take action?
Well, we have an anti-Christian, anti-American Muslim in the Whiate House.
