I think that it’s important to understand why the Republican leadership in Washington and Mississippi and big donors like Michael Bloomberg were willing to support him when they had to know that he had become mentally unfit to serve.

They did it because Cochran had demonstrated over the years a willingness to do what lobbyists and deep pocket shakers and movers wanted him to do as long as he got the pork projects to take back home to Mississippi that kept him in his Senate seat. If the Republicans take the Senate, he is in line to be the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. What better position for a man who will willingly do what his handlers demand. When he became obviously incapable of serving, he would be told to resign and Haley Barbour would take his place.

Most of this was not known until McDaniel forced a runoff, it’s hard to see how he can win now.

Oh My God! A text book illustration of what being “out of touch” looks and sounds like. I don’t even blame him completely, he’s been immersed in a war of rhetoric with his opposing candidate. Cochran’s campaign managers have done him a huge diservice. They are supposed to keep their man on top of his game in reference to current events. If I was the other guy, I would comment on this as little as is possible. The blunder speaks and reeks for itself!

Yep. It’s clear Cochran is just a prop in his own campaign.

These douche bags just expect to be reelected. They are truly the ruling class.
