Spoliation of evidence is a serious crime, unless fedcoats do it.

Remember, almost all the Watergate convictions came about after President Nixon left office.

I'm a little worried about that statement.
Is there a statute of limitations on criminal acts while in elected, appointed or hired for federal employment?

Were the charges related to Watergate also filed after President Nixon left office?

Sorry, I didn't keep track of the Watergate thing, being objectively very minor; nobody died.

The panoply of Baraq Hussein regime's crimes are several orders of magnitude greater than Watergate, with deaths of citizens all over the place!

Just Lois Lerner’s emails.

She has her own dedicated email server with her own dedicated storage with its own dedicated backups.

Only her emails were lost. Nobody else’s.

Who ever said they were lost is an Idiot and has clue about computers , LOL ,must be someone at the White House

A computer crash can selectively delete messages???

No way.

At any rate there should be at least three redundant sources of the emails (unless they were intentionally deleted and destroyed.)

1) On Lerner's Computer or computers

2) Stored on one or more servers

3) Backed up on hard copy and archived on a secure off site, fire proof storage facility

So they want us to believe that all three sources all selectively deleted the same messages in multiple computer crashes?

Right

BTW there should also be a separate log of email traffic documenting what e mails were sent and received by Lerner , who sent them and where they were sent from.. this would be in a totally separate log stored on the servers This log could be used to re obstruct where Lerner's e mils came from and where she sent emails. The emails should still be resident on the senders and recipients computers unless that all selectively "crashed" as well.

If this is the case, obviously they have been intentionally deleted and destroyed to destroy evidence and obstruct justice

If my computer crashed and I lost all my receipts and other tax related stuff, the IRS would tell me “tough beans”. So... I say the same to them/her. If she can’t come up with emails that exonerate her, then she’s guilty... same way the IRS views things. Life in prison.

I don’t think there is any problem with the statute of limitations. For most crimes, I think it is at least four years from the time the crime is discovered but any effort to conceal or cover up a crime becomes a new offense which is often more serious than the original crime.

The most likely obstacle would be the traditional reluctance to criminalize political disagreements or for a new administration to go after the last. Since the IRS was set up to be a non political agency with only around three political appointees, I don’t think there would be this normal hesitation by a new administration to go after career people who crossed the line into political activity. If career civil servants go down, they will not likely go alone.

We can only hope the congressional committees do not get discouraged by the delay, as many of us do, and will pursue this into a new administration in 2016. Prosecution can not take place without the Justice Department and under Attorney General Holder, that will not be done.

The e-mails must have been pretty darned bad if the Democrats’ apparatchiks knowingly broke the law to destroy records of their substance.
I suspect the typical message involved plotting to target and punish conservative groups, and if Valerie Jarrett meant what she said at the start of their second term, I’ll bet the e-trail leads (at least) to her.
It took a considerable amount of arrogance to think they could e-mail one another with such messages in the first place, but we have to keep in mind that in 2008 they were making noises about lowering the ocean level and the Earth’s temperature!
This administration has been a regular Greek tragedy: overweening pride and hubris, followed by disaster-after-disaster, especially lately—as if they have reached critical mass.
So there’s no telling what’s going to happen next, but I’m pretty sure it will shock even those jaded by the diamond-hard cynicism of these ruthless, amoral people.

I vaguely recall the Clinton regime being able to retrieve info from a crashed computer maybe a Republican was being targeted I think.

The ones they claim to have lost were the ones that were between her and other government agencies. Even if they were being stored on local hard drives (not likely unless it was just a cached copy) at worst they’d only lose the ones she’d received. The ones she sent would be on the recipient’s computer.

When you say ‘if’ the Republicans- it leaves the assumption that they may or will do something.

They haven’t yet so why figure they would now.

Just like BO ‘drawing a line in the sand’ and when someone crosses it, he moves the line.....

Barky Barack is behind this not-so-mysterious document disappearance.

He'd rather see the original copy of the Constitution burned on the lawn of the White House than permit any email copies of correspondence between him and Lois Lerner to become public.

He will be served articles of impeachment within 24 hours if copies are found, believe me.

(....not that this would mean he'd be impeached, sigh)

There IS a limit to the gullibility and patience of American citizens!

Oh... how I WISH that were true.

Sadly, I see ZERO evidence to support that statement.

I pretty much figure they won't do anything but, on the other hand once in a while the kid being bullied on the schoolyard just has enough of being made to look like a wimp and kicks the bully's a$$.

After all this is a public, arrogant, middle finger in the face of the Republicans. Even Boehner and McConnell must have a shred of dignity left.

They did put Trey Gowdey in charge of Benghazi so there is a glimmer of hope.

It’s every bit as bad as the Watergate fiasco.
