There is a broad coalition of Sunni groups--both nationalist and Islamist--who had been plotting against Iraq's Shia government for years before ISIS's rise provided the chance to strike. ISIS and its partners are unnatural allies. Maintaining their unity was the key to their early success, and is the only way they can hold the ground they have taken,
Basically, they're being supported by Iraqi Sunni groups.

Interesting that the Sunni Saudi Arabian government doesn’t get mentioned.

Just saw a Video Clip on O’Reilly. Looks like ISIS has captured an M-1 Tank and some Bradley Armored Personnel Carriers.
Would someone please tell me why we are allowing our “Iraqi Army” Modern Military Equipment to fall in to the hands of Murdering Terrorists?

So, who’s side are we on—the side of the Eyeranian-Syrian-North-Korean-Russian-Chinese coalition (Shiite) or the side of the Saudis, Kurds, Afghans, Africans, Indonesians and Pakis (Sunni)?
Let’s just get all gooshy and friendly and be on both sides. Maybe they’ll all fight so effectively, that both sides will win. Why aren’t our leaders sending more weapons to ‘em?

Four horsemen;
The first is conquest;
The second is war;
The third is famine;
And the forth is death.
We've had the first of four Blood Moons, are we seeing any conquests suddenly happening around the world?

Although there was a hint in the article, the territory now controlled extends from what was once Syria into what was once Iraq.
The artificial lines between Syria and Iraq established by British and French diplomats have been erased.
The Sunni tribal areas are united and restored
