Someday, when the Mideast war breaks out, Obama will strike Israel.

Gas in Pennsylvania has been hovering around four dollars for almost a year...it has not been down to even $3.50 for a couple years here...

Obama is EVIL to this Nation, he should have been impeached already..if he were Republican he would be gone...

I’m not sure if this is analogous, but we might compare it to Syria. Assad is Alewite (Shiite sect) and much of the Syrian Army Officer core is Alewite or Shiite. The lower levels are populated with Sunni conscripts. After all, they can’t risk a high ranking Sunni commander mounting a coup, ordering an artillery strike on friendlys, going rogue with a tank, defecting with a $20 million dollar mig aircraft or worse dropping a bomb on Assad’s palace.

It’s particularly bad in Syria as Alewites (Assad) and Shiites are the minority. Assad lost much of his infantry, because it was largely populated with Sunni’s. That’s why you see a lot of video of tanks that are unsupported by infantry racing into urban areas to take pot shots and promptly rolling out. Assad can’t take and hold a gain without infantry.

The Iraqi army is probably populated with a lot of Sunni’s who’s loyalty is highly suspect. That strife might only simmer if the army’s actions are defensive. Furlough the Sunni’s soldiers and there is a very real risk they might show up as rebels. Maybe president Maliki fear mass defections if he mounts an offensive against Sunni areas. Even if they don’t defect the Sunni’s within the Iraqi forces could reek absolute havoc via sabotage.

All just speculation.

Sorry , we’ve been mostly in the 3.50-3.60 range for years here in mid Atlantic ( for regular); never into the 3.70’s if you shop.
