The problem with blowing up a dam because you need the water is that you most likely live downstream and will get flooded
None of the inbreds over there are bright enough to figure that out until it actually happens.
I went to school with Arabs and worked with several later. One day I suddenly realized that although they weren’t “stupid” that they saw an entirely different reality. It was impossible to predict what they’d do given a particular input. A Lebanese who sounded like a Tea Partier when we were alone echoed the insane ramblings of the Iranian protesters when they were around. I asked why and he said, “You don’t understand. They won’t kill you for disagreeing because they know that would get them in trouble. But if I disagree it’s like asking them to kill me.” Years later there were six of us and one Palestinian in a conversation regarding Salmon Rushdie. The Palestinian casually, between bites of pizza said, “Well, if he defamed (misquoted) Allah, then he must die.” From observation I deduced that their culture does not connect cause and effect. So, will they worry about floods if some higher paradigm is operable in their logic? Who knows. But I’d put money on retaliation.
Old mountain folk saying: “Never live downstream from a herd.”
There are five more dams downstream, before you get to Baghdad.
