I guess both Spain and Uruguay are learning the hard way that four years was a long time ago...
I ain’t watching unless the stadiums are filled with vuvuzelas.
I think it affirms that Klinsi ditching Donovan was the right call.
It takes a mix of youth and experience, just relying on the same guys as four years ago won’t work...It didn’t work for France in 2002, and it hasn’t worked for Spain this year.
Relying on the “old guys” never works in any sport.

Maybe England will have a good WC too, since they dumped most of their old guard in favor of new blood.
I don't know, the vuvuzelas do add a certain crazed atmosphere for the occasional soccer fan, and the South Africans definitely seem to like them.

In international soccer 4 years is an eternity!
Spain took a chance with a Brazilian mercenary turncoat up front, and Mr. Shakira probably cost them two goals with his bad positioning.
I do think that the extraordinary length of the regular season (La liga & Champions League) will wear out even the best players.
The length of the football season has gotten as obscenely long as the NBA in the states and it’s really unnecessary.

Another World Cup, same ol’ England.
Uruguay’s team looks the same as well, but with less hair.
Lots of goals this time; definitely better watching than in the past.

I don’t follow the leagues, but the number of good players either on the bench or off the team due to injuries would support your contention.
Lol, and I bet there are some vuvuzelas in Brazil this year. I just haven’t watched any of it yet. I’ll see when the US plays tomorrow.
If Pirlo is on like he was yesterday, you can book a spot in the final game for Italy.
Not much of a follower of the tournament, nor really know about the players ... But towards the end yesterday, he fired a great FK around the wall that smacked the crossbar & completely fooled the English G.
More than that, Pirlo completely controlled the midfield, he who controls the midfield generally wins the game.
And I actually came away very impressed with England. I think they should win their other two games...But Italy really impressed. 2010 was a disaster for them.
