Obama calling on grads to fight climate change
NEWS.MSN.COM ^ | June 14, 2014 | NEDRA PICKLER

The president is expected to issue a call to action on global warming in a commencement address Saturday at the University of California, Irvine. Earlier this month, he announced a contentious plan to cut pollution from power plants.

While in Orange County, Obama also raised money for the Democratic National Committee at a closed-door fundraiser at the Laguna Beach home of Getty oil heiress Anne Earhart. About 25 people paid up to $32,400 to participate in a roundtable discussion with the president.

He's spending the rest of the Father's Day weekend on vacation at the Rancho Mirage home of White House decorator Michael Smith and his partner, U.S. Ambassador to Spain James Costos.

“I know murdered Ambassador to Libya Chris Stephens was one.”

And just how do you “know” that?

“”””Four years of hard work and then having to sit through this clown’s lies at graduation.””””

When my son graduated form Tulane in 2006 he had Bill Clinton as the speaker. First, they gave him an honorary law degree which I thought was funny since he was disbarred. Next, he stated that global warming “started this decade” which means it didn’t exist until W was President. So he blames global warming on W. Pretty amazing, don’t you think? Clintons admirers cheered energetically for him while I stayed seated and shook my head.

So apparently the brainwashing about global taxation, I mean global warming, has been going on for awhile.

Who ARE these 25 people?
I can think of 25 ways to conserve the world’s oxygen supply

No wonder the world’s economies are a mess. ALL of the so called governments are fixated on homosexuality. It has become their number one priority.

I refuse to discuss globule warming with anyone until they look up a few facts on the net. I ask them to find out what % of the atmosphere is CO2, and what percentage of that is man’s contribution. I’ve actually had a few exclaim, “It’s that little?”

Re: “32K to participate in a round table discussion with the president??? Really??? The pres doesn’t talk enough as it is??? What exactly comes out these discussions? New policy initiatives???”

**********

This was a morning fundraiser (for the DNC, I guess) at the Laguna Beach home of one of the 400 richest people in the USA - Anne Earhart, a Getty grandchild (around 60 years old).

Then BO was taken via Marine 1 to Anaheim Stadium where he addressed some 45K (graduates and guests) and spoke about global warming and healthcare and heaven knows what else... The grads were never really acknowledged and certainly not personally — no names called, no walk across the field, no handshake, nothing. They all had to stand in line to be searched, grads and guests alike, and were in that line for about 3 hours.

My cousin was there as her son was a grad. She had to get up at 4 a.m. to get there from an L.A. suburb — she said sun was brutal and she’s never seen so many ‘programs’ creatively turned into hats and visors as today. From a photo I saw, it looked like the crowd of guests was all wearing white ‘hats’ of some sort. What a fiasco!

Sir,
Must you be so niggardly in praise of our POTUS? How dare you?

Our President did right to spend Father's Day with gays.* Do you not realize the havoc wreaked upon the LGBTG Community by Global Warming? Rising sea levels will drown gay couples who wanted nothing more than a day at the beach, you gender normative fascist!

Of what would you have our President speak? Depression II? The real Unemployment Rate? Jobs? Iraq? The Bergdahl Swap? Obamacare? No need. These triumphs speak for themselves.

*Just think of the valuable décor tips he'll pick up for the WH!

Liberals have to have SOME dramatic narrative to speak about. Can't talk about increased individual freedom and prosperity. Can't talk about the American dream. Can't talk about the socialist revolution to spread wealth among the oppressed classes. This is it.

Anyone watch "Cosmos:A Spacetime Odyssey" with host Neil de Grasse Tyson? Specifically ...

5/04/2014 - Episode 9 - "The Lost Worlds of Planet Earth"

This episode explored the palaeogeography of Earth over millions of years, and its impact on the development of life on the planet. Tyson starts by explaining that the lignin-rich trees evolved in the Carboniferous era about 300 million ago, were not edible by species at the time and would instead fall over and become carbon-rich coal. Some 50 million years later, near the end of the Permian period, volcanic activity would burn the carbonaceous matter, releasing CO2 (carbon dioxide) and acidic components, creating a sudden greenhouse gas effect that warmed the oceans and released CH4 (methane) from the ocean beds, all leading towards the Permian–Triassic extinction event, killing 90% of the species on Earth. Tyson further explains how the influence of other planets in the Solar System have small effects on the Earth's spin and tilt, creating the various ice ages, and how these changes influenced early human's nomadic behavior. Tyson concludes the episode by noting how Earth's landmasses are expected to change in the future and postulates what may be the next great extinction event – mankinds insatiable use of hydrocarbons/fossil fuels/coal-petroleum-natural gas for energy.

6/01/2014 - Episode 12 - "The World Set Free"

This episode explores the nature of the greenhouse effect and the evidence demonstrating the existence of global warming from humanity's influence. Tyson begins by describing the long-term history of the planet Venus; based on readings from the Venera series of probes to the planet, the planet had once had an ocean and an atmosphere, but due to the release of CO2 from volcanic eruptions, the runaway greenhouse effect on Venus caused the surface temperatures to increase and boiled away the oceans.

Tyson then notes the delicate nature of the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere can influence Earth's climate due to the greenhouse effect, and that levels of CO2 have been increasing since the start of the 20th century. Evidence has shown this to be from mankind's consumption of oil, coal, and natural gas instead of from volcanic eruptions due to the isotopic signature of the CO2. The increase in CO2 has led to an increase in temperatures, in turn leading to positive feedback loops of the melting polar ice caps and dethawing of the permafrost to increase CO2 levels.

Tyson then notes that humans have discovered means of harvesting solar power, such as Augustin Mouchot's solar-driven motor in the 19th century, and Frank Shuman's solar-based steam generator in the 1910's. Tyson points out that in both cases, the economics and ease of using cheap coal and oil caused these inventions to be overlooked at the time. Today, solar and wind-power systems would be able to collect enough solar energy from the sun easily. Tyson then compares the motivation for switching to these cleaner forms of energy to the efforts of the Space race and emphasizes that it is not too late for humanity to correct its course.

obozo never gave me the impression that he ever bonded with his daughters...you never really see him doing anything with his kids. He forms no real attachments to people, from what I've read, has no real friends except Valjar, the lizard faced Valerie Jarrett, the commie/socialist/marxist/muzzie collaborator who pulls his strings. His beard, the mooch better known as Michelle, is just that, and they have no real attachment to each other. He is most comfortable with other homosexuals like himself.
