He shoulda won. Pure and simple.
Actually Maliki does share some blame for not opening up his government to the Sunni. But that’s also due to the fact that zero is not a leader. Any leader with half a brain could tell that without good leadership from the top Iraq or Afghanistan for that matter could wind up in civil war or under attack by terror wannabes.
Given good leadership in the US,a potus/Sec.of State who was actually interested in peace and possible democracy Islamic style, if that even exists, would have insisted that Maliki share govt. with the Sunni. Zero was never cable or willing to accomplish that and we know how incompetent hillary was so we get ISIS.
The Left presents all terrorists and thugs as “disenfranchised” or “downtrodden” or a “minority,” etc. “If only al Qaeda was allowed a seat at the table...” “It’s Bush’s fault they exist. It’s Mailiki’s fault. It’s the Koch brothers or the white suburban middle class...”
Did Robert E. Lee invade Venezuela first, grab a few towns there, and only then fire on the Union army? Today’s Left would call V.I. Lenin sectarian, just a poor disenfranchised atheist in a world of Orthodox Christian bullies.
IISI already has pronounced its intention of invading Israel. Will that be sectarian too? Will John Kerry defer to “talks” as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are under siege? “If only ISIS had provided a few seats in the Knesset to the poor disenfranchised jihadis...”
What the Obama regime is saying about ISIS is TOTAL BS and everybody is repeating it. Even our side.
I think we understand it is “grassroots” and very “retail,” a “bottom up” wave of political actions. At this point no one really speaks for the Tea Party from an electoral pulpit, there is no single campaign that encompasses it as Reagan did the “movement” of yesteryear.
But someone could grab that mantle, its’ there, it’s real, and I bet more than 25 percent of the electorate would identify with the entirety of its agenda. And you wouldn’t need to spend a dime to get that bloc of votes if you espoused its principles.
To me, that’s big. If you can win on little or no money BECAUSE you linked to the Tea Party (the “movement” not the media caricature) you have a valid movement. The special election in Florida and the Virginia overthrow of Cantor fall into this formula.
Let’s re-write the leftie bumper sticker.
“Stop spending and start a movement.”
