When it comes to the U.S. economy, the glass just went from half full to half empty.

So much for that hopeful thinking. Half-way through the year, forecasts are being slashed. The latest Zorro move comes from the International Monetary Fund. The organization said Monday that the U.S. economy would only grow 2% this year, down from it earlier forecast of 2.8%.

I also love this quote....

"With Obamacare coming into effect, the Commerce Department assumed health care spending rose dramatically in the first quarter. Now, it looks like that assumption was flawed."

Are these people idiots? Like the people who need Obamacare the most actually have money to spend on discretionary medical treatments???

Unbelievable.

The only people who are changing their expectations are the idiots at CNN and the other Lib media sources. Pretty much everyone else knew we were screwed ever since Obama enacted his spending binge program and Obamacare.

Of course it is believable!

After all, what did you think Obama meant when he promised in 2009 to “Fundamentally transform the United States of America?”

Gee, I thought Obamacare was supposed bend the cost curve down. So why would Commerce assume health spending would rise dramatically, as though that were a good thing?

They also said this (from another report on Yahoo Finance):

One highly debated issue is on the minimum wage. The IMF is forecasting that the U.S. minimum wage should be increased. On this matter it said:

This would help raise incomes for millions of working poor and would have strong complementarities with the suggested improvements in the EITC, working in tandem to ensure a meaningful increase in after-tax earnings for the nation’s poorest households.

Sure....just create more money out of thin air. To hell with all the ramifications. That's their solution.

People who write garbage like that have no clue what they’re talking about. It amazes me.

Sure, the person employed will see more income. Maybe they’ll progress out of the EITC. But what of the person that was laid off to pay the other? His drain on the system is now revenue neutral? I doubt it. It boggles my mind.

As if finding a way around the 30 hour work week for providing benefits was hard? Simply reduce hours to 28. Cut back! They don’t think that businesses will find a way around this???

IMF said to SPEND MORE on Infrastructure in USA, like those shovel ready jobs? I thought we already did that! wink wink nudge nudge...
and raise the minimum wage, that will cause everything to cost more.
and raise the gasoline tax, only hurts people who HAVE TO DRIVE TO WORK EVERY DAY
and get rid of individual income tax deductions....
a liberal wet dream for decades

I think the markets always find their equilibrium. Real Estate, PMs, Labor etc.... I am becoming optimistic maybe things are improving slowly out of demand. In buckhead Atlanta, there is at least 7 cranes piercing g two atmospheres. In two weeks of hard networking, I gained new employment, albeit when I was employed. I believe, the recent college grads who went back to the nest, might be leaving, and maybe not owning, or even renting their own place. This is stirring up commerce. Too bad we do not manufacture like 30-40 years ago, never-mind 50 or 60.

I think things will be better, despite our lousy stewards of government.< It better, I'm putting my career on the line, and I feel good about it. I hope we all do better, go USA!
