Another question might be: Is WND making up unsourced nonsense in order to generate ad revenue on its site?

And another question is whether some here have such a dislike for WND that they can't evaluate anything from that site objectively.

Stories of this sort of US involvement have been around since soon after the fighting in Syria started. And the article does use Der Spiegel and The Guardian as sources.

I seriously doubt WND would "make up" information of this sort to generate revenue. No one has the full story on US involvement in arming or training the 'rebels' in Syria, but I don't think very many doubt that there was some significant involvement.

WND is a sensationalistic website that doesn't do much fact checking.

Der Spiegel and The Guardian have recently (though no so recently actually for The Guardian) cultivated a strong anti-US bias with their breathless and adoring coverage of Julian Assange.

"There is something bad going on here, and that means the US must be behind it" is poor logic and poor reportage.
