On same day, Senate confirms 2 gay judges to federal courts

The U.S. Senate on June 17 confirmed three federal judges nominated by President Barack Obama. The White House, in a statement released hours later, said each judge will be a "trailblazer on their courts."

• Judge Darrin Gayles, confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, is the first openly gay African American man to be confirmed as a lifetime-appointed federal judge.

• Staci Yandle, confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, is the first African American to serve on that court and the first openly gay lifetime-appointed federal judge in Illinois.

With the Senate actions, Obama has now appointed more female judges than any other president, breaking the record previously set by President Bill Clinton.

“Would explain the high amount of AIDS in Africa.”

So would an ever expanding definition of AIDS to suit a certain agenda.

Indeed, the table is being set for the full-bore persecution of Christians, as well as anyone else who doesn’t bow down to evil and perversion.

I fully expect to see churches torched all across the country within a few years.

Somewhere in the Bible, if I could remember I would cite it, God sets women and children to rule over Israel as a punishment.

Seems we are getting ours as well.

This will not end well.

I convinced several folks in prior elections to vote Republican, reminding them: “the Democrat president will be gone in four years, but his court appointees will be there for decades. Always remember this!”

You nailed it!

Everything one needs to understand about life in all its twists and turns is in scripture, nothing is left unaddressed.

I suppose I am becoming less and less acceptable daily to those who have abandoned the only source of truth and the only prescribable cure.

I sak everyday “are You coming soon”? Please do not tarry.

You mentioned in an earlier post that the writer did not exegete the passage correctly. I concur with your assessment. However, to avoid the same problem on this thread, I suggest that we use a different passage to support your disgust. The Isaiah context is of course the Assyrian siege which ended badly for the Assyrians, but ultimately led to Israel being carried away by the Babylonians. Thus, what you intimate in your remarks is true, but not taught here.

Or it’s time we recaptured our culture. End government education and we’re halfway there.

How about the ‘more women judges’ without any reflection on merit or qualifications?

I pulled the first paragraph from Chicago publication. I would not consider 52 to 44 to be over whelming support. The cloture votes for both nominees were similar to the 52 to 44 vote. For some reason on final vote, they voted unanimously of those present to confirm Gayles nomination.

The vote totals are from the US Senate website.

“Both nominees received overwhelming support from the Senate during their confirmation votes: Ms. Yandle was confirmed by a vote of 52 to 44, and Judge Gayles was confirmed by a vote of 98 to 0.”

Question: On the Nomination (Confirmation Darrin P. Gayles, of Florida, to be U.S. District Judge )
Not Voting – 2:
Casey (D-PA) Cochran (R-MS)

Question: On the Nomination (Confirmation Staci Michelle Yandle, of Illinois, to be U.S. District Judge )

Vote Counts: YEAs 52
NAYs 44
Not Voting 4

Not Voting - 4
Casey (D-PA)
Cochran (R-MS) Levin (D-MI)
Sessions (R-AL)

Question: On the Cloture Motion (Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Nomination of Peter Kadzik, of New York, to be Assistant Attorney General )

Vote Counts: YEAs 54
NAYs 43
Not Voting 3

Not Voting - 3
Casey (D-PA) Coburn (R-OK) Cochran (R-MS)

It appears Casey and Cochran are not in Washington. Coburn is there as these votes and others I looked at happened close to each other from about 11:00 am to 12:30 pm today.

> I wonder where they stand on gay marriage?

And “iifetime federal standing” judges at that. Geez I wonder why they were appointed? The homofication of America? Changing federal laws so that “sexual predator” can no longer be used to describe pedophiles because it labels them as a sexual deviant when all they want is just a few minutes with a child’s private parts and what’s so wrong about that? Is this where we’re going? Geez we lived in screwed up times.

...to judge by the amount of theological wrangling that goes on with the Religion forum, the torchbearers will probably be other Christians...

The legal foundation is being laid for Obama's persecution of Christians.

But first, he's putting in place a complicit court which will overturn ever charge being brought against Obama for his numerous crimes against the Constitution, including the newest IRS e-mail cover-ups.
