Hillary, read the news: Ex-GITMO detainee arrested in Spain for recruiting jihadists

Remember last week when Hillary Clinton said about the Taliban 5: “These five guys are not a threat to the United States. They are a threat to the safety and security of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It’s up to those two countries to make the decision once and for all that these are threats to them. So I think we may be kind of missing the bigger picture here.”

No ma’am, you are missing the bigger picture here and are therefore not qualified to be president of the United States. We’ve already had a failed “first of” Democrat presidential experiment. These are barbaric savages hell bent on killing all of us. And because of liars and deceivers such as you, Obama and the media who fail to acknowledge this enemy, they get a pass. And here is yet another example of why you shall not — and Obama should no longer — be president.

As reported in the Wall Street Journal, Spanish police broke up what they said was a jihadist recruitment network in Madrid, led by a former detainee at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, that sent volunteers to fight in Syria and Iraq with al-Qaida-inspired rebels.

Police detained nine people who allegedly fought alongside the Sunni militia Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, or ISIS, officials said. A person familiar with the probe said the suspected leader of the network is Lahcen Ikassrien, Moroccan by birth and nationalized Spanish. He spent four years at Guantanamo after he was captured in 2001 in Afghanistan, where he allegedly fought with the Taliban. He has denied being a Taliban member.

Alleged? I guess he was there in Afghanistan just to hike the Hindu Kush. And of course, if these fine fellas tell us they’re not Taliban members, of course they should be trusted — taquiyya anyone? They just want to go back home, take up yoga and start a milk and honey farm. How stupid can we be? Uh, really apparently.

Mr. Ikassrien’s detention is the latest chapter in a complex legal saga. Along with two other Spanish citizens, Mr. Ikassrien was released in 2005 to the custody of Spain’s authorities and released shortly thereafter due to lack of evidence that he belonged to any criminal groups.

And I don’t care who was president at the time, once these non-state non-uniform belligerent terrorists are taken off the battlefield they should rot in detention — for as long as Islamic terrorists wage their jihad. Thanks, Sen. Dick Durbin for comparing GITMO to concentration camps. If I’d been president when he made that insidious statement, I would have found a way to lock him in with these animals for 24 hours.

Western civilization must come to understand that once these jihadists take up arms in support of Islamic terrorism, they are unlawful enemy combatants — and their citizenship should be revoked. The enemy is using the Islamic principle of Hijra to migrate into our countries and subvert our way of life using our own rule of law. Under the Geneva Convention, they are not guaranteed any rights upon capture on the battlefield. We need to stop this liberal progressive victim concept and feeling sorry for these savages.

In Spain, Mr. Ikassrien has been a prominent voice for the closure of the Guantanamo camp, giving numerous interviews with local media and taking part in human-rights events organized by Amnesty International, according to Fernando Reinares, an expert in terrorism at Spain’s Elcano Royal Institute, a think tank.

“This detention comes to show that the idea many had, that the jihadists in Syria and elsewhere are a new generation that has no connection with the previous 9/11 generation, is completely false,” Mr. Reinares said. “What we see in fact, is that many of that older generation are now in leading positions all over the jihadist movement.” The deduction from Mr. Reinares’ statement is that the recently released Taliban 5 are just as viable and relevant as ever, regardless of being held for 12 years.

A number of former Guantanamo inmates have risen to prominence in jihadist groups, especially in recent years. By January, about 29% of 614 detainees released from the prison in Cuba had returned to violence, according to the Director of National Intelligence.

Yes, I am sick of misguided western benevolence towards a vile and vicious enemy whose raison d’être is our death and demise — and I’m really sick of folks who want to be president who just don’t get it — regardless of political party.
