'He’s just absolutely ignoring the Constitution': Republican Representative says there's 'probably'
The Daily Mail Online ^ | Tuesday, June 17, 2104 | Francesca Chambers

President Barack Obama has acted so unlawfully that he 'probably' wouldn't survive an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives, Republican Rep. Lou Barletta told a radio host on Monday.

'He’s just absolutely ignoring the Constitution, and ignoring the laws and ignoring the checks and balances,' the Pennsylvania lawmaker told News Radio 910 WSBA personality Gary Sutton yesterday.

'The problem is, what do you do?' Barletta continued. 'For those that say impeach him for breaking the laws or bypassing the laws — could that pass in the House? It probably could.'

'Is the majority of the American people in favor of impeaching the president? I’m not sure about that.'

'I don't think so,' the Pennsylvania radio host can be heard telling Barletta in audio of their conversation captured by Buzzfeed's Andrew Kaczyinski.

Barletta made the comments during a discussion on illegal immigration after Sutton argued that the president wasn't 'faithfully executing the laws of this country.'

'Well we have a president that has taken this to a new level,' Barletta said of Obama's actions before explaining how he thinks impeachment proceeding would hypothetically play out in the House.

As I said ... there has NEVER (even once) EVER been a single President removed from office from this Constitutional process. It has NEVER succeeded even one time in the entire history of our country of removing one single President, by this process.

Wrong. He was impeached. He was not convicted.

No. You said there has never been a single successful impeachment process, etc. with a lot of capital letters, etc.

That’s incorrect. Both Johnson and Clinton were ‘successfully impeached’ by the House of Representatives.

The CONSTITUTIONAL PROCESS that is clearly outlined and very specifically so in our Constitution - REQUIRES - that it go through the entire process specified.

It has NEVER SUCCEEDED ONE SINGLE TIME in the entire history of our country to remove even ONE President from office, as specified by that process.

There has NEVER (even once) EVER been a single President who commits overt acts of treason. NOT EVER.

UNTIL TODAY.

CONCENTRATE:

You, like so many others on FR have it backwards, cart before the horse, tail wagging the dog, etc., Etc., ETC.

By the Book: Arrest, trial, sentence.

By the US Constitution: Impeach. remove from office, punish.

Got it?

Impeachment is like indictment. Clinton was impeached. He was not convicted at the trial in the Senate.

The votes in the Senate are still 53 to 45 to keep Obama (two unknown) ... those are the only numbers I have to know.

How many Generals would it take to arrest Obama for Dereliction of Duty or at the very least to relieve him of “command”... he is technically a military officer ie. Commander in Chief...

It wouldn’t stop him from being president, but it could place the command of the military under congress until he leaves office....

Stay the course Star Traveler, I think that many on here do not understand the process. The Senate will never vote to convict.

To the average "man on the street" it would only gather sympathy for obama and a strong dislike for the Republicans in the House. They and the MSM would ream the members of the house for daring to do this to the first "black" President.

If some do not believe this just watch the interviews of the average person stopped on the street or on college campuses.

Impeachment is not removal from office. It's the beginning of the process that may result in removal.

It's important to be accurate, or you wind up sounding like a low-information liberal.

Those are numbers before the case has been made. You don’t know what they will be afterwards.

If you have no stomach for the fight stay out of the way and don’t spread defeatism.

Commander in Chief... in times of war. There is no declared war.

I don’t need to “read it again.”
The House could pass a vote of impeachment next month.
You seem to think that if an official isn’t removed, he hasn’t been impeached.
Look up the definition of “impeached.”

The Impeachment process is fully spelled out in the US Constitution in order to REMOVE A PRESIDENT FROM OFFICE. It’s not a “guessing game” as to what is required.

The process, as defined very clearly and specifically in the US Constitution, has NEVER EVEN ONE TIME — succeeded in removing a single US President from his office - in the ENTIRE HISTORY of this country.
