N.Y. State Senator Introduces Bill to Give Vote to Illegal Aliens
The New American ^ | 18 June 2014 | Warren Mass

New York state Senator Gustavo Rivera (D-Bronx) introduced a bill on June 16 to create a special status allowing aliens who are not in the United States legally under federal law to enjoy certain privileges by virtue of being “New York State Citizens.”

The right to vote is among many rights and privileges usually reserved for citizens (or at least legal residents) that S. 7879, “The New York Is Home Act,” extends to state residents who are in the United States illegally.

Rep. Karim Camara introduced a companion bill, A10129, in the state assembly. The act states that it “extends voting rights to all State Citizens. State Citizens may vote in all State and local elections.”

I read things like this and can only conclude that our nation as we know it is finished. An elected official proposing this madness?

It would seem to me that since other states do not approve of this BS, under the equal protection provisions of the 14th, one state going its way contrarary the the wishes and at the peril of the others and since voting in national elections is interstate in nature, this could be found unconstitutional.

One of the reasons I finally got smart and moved out of that cesspool of a state. Driving by the welfare office everyday and seeing huges lines of illegals then looking at my paycheck every week absolutely obliterated by taxes. F them, seriously! Anyone who lives in that state and pays taxes, you are a sucker. Get the hell out now. You are being ripped off.

“...this could be found unconstitutional.”

Unfortunately the constitution doesn’t defend itself, it needs strong patriotic leaders to do so.

The Progressive Master Plan is becoming clear. The “National-Popular-Vote” initiative is quietly progressing, the borders have been eliminated and left-leaning invaders are being brought in by the millions just as states are claiming the right to give them the vote. The Left is determined to never surrender their power.

The American electorate is being dissolved, and a new one is being installed.

Found unconstitutional? By whom? The same court that found obamacare constitutional? The same court that found that private corporations may confiscate private land through eminent domain?

So in other words, he is taking away the voting power of New York citizens. Tell him thank you at the next election.

“So in other words, he is taking away the voting power of New York citizens”

This is the crux of the issue. What chance does any productive New Yorker have of voting for fiscal austerity and a limit to government handouts when a huge block of dependent voters has been added to the roles? (The same trick will work with gun control, just wait.)

Personally I’m outraged that Senator Rivera is discriminating against Mexicans and Central Americans who haven’t been able to sneak into New York State. New York should provide absentee ballots to all residents of these countries, and immediately begin mailing welfare and other benefit checks to their citizens.

If illegal immigrants were voting mostly Republican, this would not even be considered.

New York overwhelmed by Illegal Immigrant Children..
With some comparing it to a refugee crisis, New York City, among other areas, is struggling to deal with the explosion of illegal immigrant children brought about by the Obama administration’s failed policies.
The fallout is being felt most acutely in places with large immigrant populations, like New York, where newly arrived children and their relatives are flooding community groups, seeking help in fighting deportation orders, getting health care, dealing with the psychological traumas of migration, managing the challenges of family reunification and enrolling in school. “It’s almost like a refugee crisis,” said Steven Choi, executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition, an advocacy group.
And a lack of cooperation by Federal officials may not be making things any easier. They refuse to “reveal how many children they are holding, how many are being released or where they are being sent”.
Advocacy organizations in the New York region are reporting “a stunning rise in the number of unaccompanied minors seeking help in the past several months,” kicking into what many view as an already overwhelmed system.
“We are trying to triage,” said Emma Kreyche, organizing and advocacy coordinator for the group. “I don’t think anyone really knows what the scope of this is and how to see what’s coming down the pike and figure out how to respond.”

New York right now must not be very wild about this bill...They are enduring hardships taking care of all the new illegals landing in New York..How much money will New York be asking gov for to give total care to all new illegals coming to the state... ? I’d like to hear him address this and at the same time explain where all this money will come from to provide current illegals with benefits as if they are Americans?

Why do they even need to be living in New York? Why not just allow everyone in Mexico or Guatemala to vote in New York by absentee ballot?

Being an American citizen means nothing to liberals.
