It’s noteworthy that the al-Jazeera host, Faysal Al-Qassem, repeatedly blames the pro-Maliki spokesman, Abu Firas Al-Hamadani, of starting the fight, when clearly the foe of Maliki, Najeh Al-Mizan, is the one who did so. Al-Jazeera, after all, is a Sunni channel. In any case, Najeh Al-Mizan’s words here demonstrate the disgust that Iraqi Sunnis have for the United States after it toppled Saddam Hussein to install in Baghdad a weak Shi’ite client state of Iran, and how determined they are to topple the Maliki regime.

"A debate on Al-Jazeera TV on the ISIS takeover of Mosul turned ugly on June 17, 2014, with political activist Najeh Al-Mizan throwing a pen at journalist Abu Firas Al-Hamadani and beating him with his mobile phone. "

You son of a motherless goat!

He’s all in for the “popular movement in Iraq” which means ISIS, the worst terrorists on the planet. We should light that place up.

You camel jockeys need to go complain the “I Stand With The Muslims” Obama. You can catch him on the 10th green making a putt, if you hurry.

I wish that George W. Bush had known things like this about the Iraqis instead of listening to that idiotic Neo Con BS that, when the Americans come come to free us, they’ll be welcomed with open arms. And that stupid Christian nutter line of his, “that all people want to be free”.

I’m sorry but I see G.W. Bush as a disaster. Certainly not in the same league as Obama. But his Open Borders crap and the Iraq War and other things were just idiocy, in my opinion.

I remember being mystified when we kicked Iraq out of Kuwait and destroyed its army, then we failed to go to Baghdad hang Sadaam Hussein. He was our mess and we should have dealt with him right then.

I wish that GWB had known things like this about the Iraqis....

How could he? He was no where near DC when all of this was evolving. Remember back then...Dan Quayle was a good VP for George 1 for knowledge of foreign affairs and diplomacy. He was marginalized for using an alternative spelling of potatoE.

What I don't understand is how we got from 911...all the terrorists were Saudis...to a situation where they determine our foreign policy. And arming and training ISIS?....didn't anyone in gov have a clue where that was going?

I think that G.W. Bush listened to the cheerleaders for going after Saddam, and that would probably include Dick Cheney, and not enough of the people who were concerned about what a sinkhole for high hopes the Middle East has always seemed to be.

I’m pretty sure having half of the middle east sponsor and or suuprt Islamist terrorists that it would be a national security threat.....meaning that a President would have to act to protect America whether we wanted to or not.

IMHO Iran's maneuvering this - Iran backs giving the middle of Iraq to the Sunni. It's worthless anyway. The top to Turkey - a place to dump Kurds... and take the bottom of Iraq - the part with the oil- for themselves. The US will sit wide-eyed... and clueless... something John Kerry excels at...

After the Sunni have been sufficiently degraded , Iranians will move in and kill them. Or just leave them alone to suffer... The US? We're going to back this partition.... which starts it all... That's my guess.

Yeah, I’m sure there are reasons why America had to get involved but I just don’t think that you can “earn” another country’s freedom for them.

And I was so much relieved to hear candidate Bush say during the 2000 debates that Nation Building wasn’t on his agenda.

Agree, we need to disrupt enough to keep them from organizing against us and mindful of human rights abuses balanced by national security needs....a complex matter for sure. Definately no nation building.

And I would just like to make it clear that I think our military did a brilliant job of eliminating Saddam and in making the best of the ensuing chaos that erupted after his regime’s ouster.

But I’m just so disgusted that there’s never been much of any gratitude in Iraq for all that we sacrificed on their behalf.

And I think I read Pat Buchanan saying, aside from all the American blood shed there, that it’ll cost us $6 trillion.
