Zoabi Slams Israelis as 'Insensitive, Intolerant, and Critical'

MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad - United Arab List) defended her remarks supporting Hamas's kidnapping of three Israeli teens Wednesday, stating that her views were already "well-known" and that she will not be thrown from the Knesset.

"I don't think they'll throw me out of the Knesset, I haven't broken any laws," Zoabi stated, in an interview with Channel 2 Wednesday.

She also derided the Israeli government for providing her and her family with a state-funded security detail, claiming that she never should have needed one at all.

"I did not ask for a security detail and I'm ready to give it up willingly," she added, "but I also understand that security was based on information that the police had. I would prefer that the police investigate seriously the threats and catch the perpetrators, but apparently it does not work like that and the police would rather not explore but just give me security."

Zoabi then used the security detail, which was provided by the Israeli security establishment, to slam the "insensitive" nature of Israeli society.

"The security detail reveals the nature of society in which we live - insensitive, intolerant and critical," Zoabi fired. "[Israeli] society does not like to look at itself in the mirror."

"What I'm saying is at the heart of democracy," she added. "I won't play the rules of the game and everyone knows my political views."

Zoabi's remarks would be accurate if they were made about Arab society.

Too true. I don’t see Zoabi advocating for Jews to be elected to the “Palestinian” government.

She’s still got the security detail, despite all the big talk. If they had only investigated without providing her with a security detail, she’d bitch about that instead. Bottom line is, she’s saying a lot of radical crap right now because her son has decided to say publicly he’s an Israeli first, a Muslim and an Arab second. This puts her in the dog house of Arab opinion, so she’s overcompensating to save face.

Insensitive, intolerant, and critical. Yeah, those are the gravest sins in the liberal canon. You can saw a hostage’s head off and they won’t criticize you nearly as much as anyone who dares mention that this is considered bad behavior in civilized societies.

Some background on this Arab MK, Hanin Zoabi and the sudden placement of security . . .video of Arab teenager from Nazareth condemning the Palestinian Authority as a terrorist organization and calling on the kidnappers of three Israeli Jewish teens to free them immediately. What makes the video even more unusual is that it was made by Mohammad Zoabi, the 16-year-old relative of controversial Arab MK Hanin Zoabi.

Israel lets this enemy population squat in her little country....lets this one (and others) sit in the Parliament even...allows them to shoot their mouts off against their host country all the time.... even provides them security protection (since obviously such antics will stir up animosity)....

and yet ...?

There's also news about the young man who was threatened for his defense of the yeshiva students:

An Arab-Israeli teen from Umm al-Fahm filed a complaint with police, saying he received death threats for his public show of support for the return of the three kidnapped yeshiva students, Israel Radio reported.

The 17-year-old posted a photograph of himself on Facebook holding an Israeli flag and a sign reading "Bring Back Our Boys" with a Star of David underneath.

The boy said he received anonymous phone calls from people calling him a "traitor" and threatening to kill him. Umm el-Fahm police opened an investigation into the incident.

Not only that, it turns out some relatives wanted to kidnap him:

Israel Today reported yesterday that three family members of Nazareth teenager Mohammad Zoabi had been arrested after joining numerous others in threatening the youth for his public condemnation of the abduction of three Israeli yeshiva students.

It turns out that those three family members intended to abduct Mohammad himself, and spirit him away to the Palestinian Authority-controlled city of Jenin, and there harm him.

That is utterly abominable, and they should be punished severely for what they planned to do.

I agree with Zoabi, he won't be thrown out of the Knesset. Insensitive, Intolerant and Critical hardly approaches the treatment of Christians in Arab States. I say Christians because said Arab states have already expelled or killed their Jewish citizens. Zoabi should thank his lucky stars, or move to Iraq. Or Syria. Maybe the Sudan. Wherever his particular tribe or version won't be slaughtered by co-religionists.
