fascism is just a train stop on the way to full-blown socialism. it just depends when people want to stop hiding what they’re really doing.

Liberals are like the idiots at Jonestown

I closed my eyes at that thought and became unusually serene...

Video journalism at its best! I love young people with courage. And brains.

If a meeting is public, in a public space, it is fair game. If a meeting is in someone’s living room it is not.

In California (believe it or not) we have what is known as the Brown Act, and meeting in someone's living room is most definitely a criminal act.
Definitely not OK.

As for public meetings, unless it is an executive session discussing public employee bargaining, or pending suits, etc., it must be a public meeting.
I would record a public meeting no problem. Miniature sensitive recorders are widely available, now.

We shouldn’t laugh. Each one of these people would put you in an oven without any remorse or hesitation.

Yep. I'm pinging the fellow who convinced me of that at an FR meet some years ago.

He’s right. I live in Cook County and every time I cut spending or reduce taxes or pay off bonds there’s a group that would like to put me in an oven. I’m not kidding. They’re true believers and would do anything for the cause.

That’s for governmental entities. This is not a governmental entity, it’s a club at a university. They chose to make it a public event when they decided to use the university’s space and announcements to publicize it, but they could have held a meeting at a private location, not being a governmental entity.
