I been in IT for over 30 years. There are copies of those emails somewhere. May have to look at DR backups, rebuild mail stores/mailboxes, or even get some folks to flip bits. I remember going to a PROFS upgrade class a couple of years ago (old IBM email system) and this fella that I was in class with worked for the NSA and we discussed the retrievial of “deleted” emails from one Lt. Col. involved in the IRAN-CONTRA stuff.

The FBI can retrieve Petraeus’ never transmitted, dropbox gmails under an alias and without a hard drive, but is unable to recover Lerner’s backed up files?
