Hickenlooper: Staffer promised I’d sign gun law…., and by the way, it’s totally ineffective!

Hickenlooper: Staffer promised I’d sign gun law I never thought would pass, and by the way, it’s totally ineffective!

“I think a lot of people didn’t know how much emotion was gonna come out of the high-capacity magazines. [We] probably would have looked for something different or a different approach.

One of my staff made the commitment that we would sign it it got passed. To be honest, no one in our office thought it would get through the legislature.

If we’d known it was going to divide the state so intensely, I think we probably would have thought about it twice…In the end, how important really was it?

After all the kerfuffle, I went back to try to get some facts we should have had at the beginning. They told me there are roughly 300,000 magazine that carry more than 15 rounds in the state of Colorado already…How’s a police enforcement officer going to tell which is the old one and which is the new one? How much of a difference is it gonna make if there are that many?

Some punk kid in Aurora wants to go out there and start spray shooting his neighborhood, which is still happening, in Aurora, in Denver, in Colorado Springs. It’s not like you’re gonna have a hard time finding a magazine.”

This is vid from the same event at which Gov. Hickenlooper was awkwardly apologizing to Colorado Sheriffs whom he ignored in the gun debate in favor of Michael Bloomberg and, well, no one with any facts or experience with firearms, apparently. He was later found to be lying when denying talking to Bloomberg. Our 2nd Ad rights are in the best of hands.

What a useless, loathsome creature.

and by the way, it’s totally ineffective!

Anybody with more than two brain cells would have known that, Hi-Cap Magazines, for the most part, don't have trackable serial numbers (with the exception of those manufactured specifically for law enforcement during the 1990's Assault Weapons Ban). So the law, (which allows all Hi-Cap's that were in the state pre-ban, but outlaws ones purchased after the ban) is utterly unenforceable, there is no way to prove a the Hi-Cap was "legal" (owned before the ban) or "illegal" (purchased after the ban) short of being able to track the individual sale or catch someone right on the border bringing one in from out of state.

As long as we don’t nominate Tancredo next week, Hick should be toast.

Tancredo is toxic and has enough foot in mouth history to be easily defeated and risk the defeat of Cory Gardner for Senate.

Even the commie-left’s “Logic” behind those bans is faulty given that it’s supposed to negate mass-shootings or something.

Those people apparently haven’t ever heard of tactical reloads, and that if you practice you can change mags out in a second or so..

It sounds like Hickenlooper is trying to pretend that he’s Ricky Ricardo and that his staffer is Lucy, “who’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.”

I hope Chickenpooper loses, and goes to work for Bloomberg. That would serve him right. Traitor.

That leader ship isn’t it?

Blame someone else for your mistakes.

I wonder if he’s going to work on getting that law repealed or just sit on it..

“Yeppers. The staffer put a gun to his head and for the idiot to sign it.”

So the Staffer who got him in all this hot water... what is his name, and does he still work for you?

Tancredo is toxic...

He was my congressman and he is a good guy. The media have smeared him for years and it has damaged Tom. So, though I think he would be a good governor, I had to vote for Gessler in the end. The ads that Kopp is running smearing Tom made sure I would not vote for him.

One Man’s “Hi-Cap” is another Man’s “Standard”.

This rule applies to more than Firearm Magazines...

Where is his bill to repeal it? That there is no mention of repeal shows what a pitiful opportunist he is.

Tom has created his own problems.

It is quite easy to fight Illegal Immigration without giving your enemies the rope with which to hang you.

It is RACIST to impose SLAVE WAGES on LEGAL immigrants and minorities, by flooding the labor force with cheap labor.

When a governor says this and reveals that all the chief LEOs in the state urged him not to sign the bill, it becomes tacit endorsement to ignore the law.

Colorado RKBA advocates take note:

If the subject was illegal immigrants or marijuana, the advocates for those issues wouldn't wait a moment flouting the law publicly and openly. With relish.

Regard CO's ban about as seriously as some crazy old law from the early 1900s still on the books that prohibits carrying a shiny lunch box in downtown Denver during daytime because the light reflection from the lunchbox could spook a horse.

Horse hockey! If anyone is stupid enough to believe this, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I will sell you. Any politician this stupid should either resign, or Colorado residents need to hold a recall election to remove him. Hickenlooper is Chickensh*tlooper.
