AUSTIN — Texas’ top three lawmakers agreed Wednesday to spend tens of millions dollars to fund a surge operation along the border to deal with the influx of Central American children pouring into Texas.

Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov David Dewhurst and House Speaker Joe Straus authorized a deal for emergency funding of $1.3 million per week for DPS surge operations that will run through at the least the end of the year.

“Texas can’t afford to wait for Washington to act on this crisis and we will not sit idly by while the safety and security of our citizens are threatened,” Perry said in a statement.

Ah geez, they are going to supposedly take our millions and spend on nothing. Most likely already in their pockets, friends and others. What they should do is turn this lemon into lemonade and start using that so called cheap labor to build that fence with them on the other side. Heck, we can even bring in Sheriff Joe’s chain gangs.

Did anyone read exactly what they were going to do in this article except spend millions?

I don’t know what they intend to do about it. If Texas is able to keep them out the Mexicans will just cross into New Mexico. There is nothing over there but than a rusty falling down barbed wire fence, no river to swim.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie???

Almost fits...

I would say its about damn time...But this is only 3 “lawmakers” that just happens to be out of session...

Until they get these legislators back into Austin, and not wait for November to decide who is going to come back in January...

I think time is of the essence...But then again, I am not holding my breath...

According to the 2010 census:

There were 1,650,000 illegals in Texas, about 6.7% of the population.

There were 1,100,000 illegals in the Texas workforce, about 9% of the workforce.

Without the illegals, the Texas economy would collapse.

Then they should sue the FEDS for the money

That'd take five years....they should SHAME the Feds for compensation; get all over the lapdog media and demand facetime to declare that the Regime consists of non-bill paying flakes.

I love the phrase, “Texas can’t wait.” It mocks Obama’s, “We can wait” for Congress to act
