Jordan has a very large population of Chechens, many of whom who serve in high level positions within the Jordanian government and Army. They were exiled by Stalin after World War II and are integrated into Jordanian society, and so there are naturally close ties between Jordan and Chechnya. So there’s no big surprise here.
