Chick-Fil-A Shocked The World Again When It Closed For A Valiant Reason You’d Never Guess

People either love Chick-Fil-A or hate it ever since the company’s president, Dan Cathy, espoused his religious beliefs regarding same-sex marriage. But love-it-or-hate-it, Chick-Fil-A seems to consistently go well-above the call of duty for good, upstanding Americans and the communities surrounding each restaurant.

The town of Griffin, Georgia was mourning the loss of Police Officer Kevin Jordan who was killed in the line of duty. According to Mad World News, Jordan was shot five times in the back while trying to make an arrest at a local Waffle House. As officers from around the state of Georgia joined local residents last Monday to pay their respects to Jordan, Chick-Fil-A honored the serviceman in a unique way: the local Griffin Dwarf House location placed a notification at their drive-thru window informing local customers that as a sign of respect for the fallen the restaurant would not be serving during the time Jordan’s funeral precession was passing the restaurant.

Though seemingly small, it was a gesture that Chick-Fil-A took to show the community, Jordan’s family, and the world that people are what truly matter. It’s one more reason we continue to fall in love with Chick-Fil-A all over again.

Micheal Bowman has been charged with the murder of officer Kevin Jordan

A police officer, ex-marine, and father of seven was shot and killed outside a Waffle House on Saturday morning where he was working an off-duty security job.

The tragic shooting occurred at the Waffle House at 1702 North Expressway in Griffin, Georgia at 2:20am on Saturday morning.

Officer Kevin Jordan was working security when a woman named Chantell Mixon, 28, and two men named Michael Bowman, 30, and Tyler Taylor, 23, allegedly started fighting.

Police spokesman Mike Richardson told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that Jordan asked the suspects to go outside and that after leaving the building they became violent when when Jordan tried to handcuff Chantell Mixon.

As Jordan was trying to restrain Mixon on the ground, suspect Micheal Bowman allegedly shot Jordan three times in the back.

The injured officer's brother Raymond Jordan was also allegedly in the parking lot when the shooting occurred, as he was visiting his brother at the restaurant.

Jordan saw his brother get shot so he then pulled out a gun and allegedly shot Bowman in retaliation. Raymond Jordan is a civilian who has a valid Georgia gun permit.

Bowman is in critical condition and being treated ay Atlanta Medical Center.

"While I like the Kathy family and what they stand for in their business practices, Chick-Fil-As are franchises.

This decision was likely done by the local franchisee. I bet he had support from the corporation, though.

Several years ago I met and spoke with one of Chick-fil- A's franchisees. He told me that he had purchased his franchise for $5000. Most franchises are closer to $500,000 +. He said that Chick fil A had a franchisee plan to help people, like him, become owners.

The requirements were a college degree, Chick-fil-A experience, community service, and good references from teachers, churches, neighbors. He said Chick-fil-A was wonderful to him and his family and would be forever grateful.

It’s not a regular franchise like the other competitors.
They (CFA Corporate) owns the business, the real estate, etc, you are called a “franchise” but basically an employee. To get the “franchise” you are prevented from having any other active business ventures, also.

Nothing wrong with that, it just wouldn’t be as profitable for the “franchisee”. They are a successful and ethical operation.

What they call a “franchisee” is really a general manager.
Nothing wrong with that, it’s just a different business model than other restaurants use, and obviously a good one.

If they ever went public I’d buy the stock for sure.

The Dwarf House is the original store... likely owned by corporate or the family.
