...Gays Treats Them Like Family
While Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson is a Bible-thumping Christian who publicly denounces homosexual behavior, among other things he views as sinful, he treats people gays and people of all different races, from all different places like family, said Deidre Gurney, the executive producer of the show, during a roundtable discussion hosted by The Hollywood Reporter.
I know Phil Robertson. I know his beliefs. I know how he treats people, said Gurney, who runs Gurney Productions with her husband Scott Gurney. I know how he treats a crew that has several gay people on the crew, people of all different races, from all different places, and who love this show. And whove moved to Monroe, Louisiana for years, and this family treats them like family."
Gurney made her comment in response to a question about how she reacted in December 2013, when Phil Robertson was suspended from the show because he said homosexual behavior was sinful. The network, the A&E Channel, reinstated Robertson after 10 days because of the backlash from his supporters nationwide.
I like Project Runway and I watch it when I can, and I have met Tim Gunn. I don’t like Duck Dynasty because I think it is boring, but it’s not the worst show out there.
I also believe in traditional marriage and that homosexuality is a disorder. But I do not treat homosexuals any different than I do anyone else. I treat all people with respect.
Tim Gunn needs to start doing the same thing. Calling people “homophobe” is not respectful.
“Duck Dynasty” is boring, for the most part...except when it deals with Phil and Miss Kay.
I don’t dislike Duck Dynasty but I agree, it has become boring. Strange, I find Uncle Si more boring than any of the characters and yet a lot of viewers seem to find him favorable, not me.
I admire Phil and his family for their witness......but I can’t watch the show. Don’t see the point of watching people sit around and rag each other. Course I don’t see the point of ANY TV show - if it weren’t for my wife’s Criminal Minds habit I wouldn’t need a TV.
