A former member of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahls platoon interrupted a Democrat on Capital Hill Wednesday as he asked an academic expert about conditions the soldier might have endured in Afghanistan to tell him nobody else deserted.
Much to the consternation of U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., former Army Specialist Cody Full asked for permission to speak as the lawmaker was in the process of building a case that Bergdahl may have had reason to act in an inexplicable manner.

there is NO excuse for a US soldier to desert.
what the hell is wrong with these morons ?
Imagine if all of the G.I.s with poor officers living in bad conditions were given carte blanche to desert to the enemy.
Gee, I guess those conditions never happened in military history.
A congressman justifying desertion. That’s a good one. Tantamount to encouraging it.
Bravo Army Specialist Cody Full...We thank you for your service!
That would be one helluva road march.
Deserters, traitors, spies, and terrorists will all find a welcoming home in the Democrat Party.
Liberals are slime.
Nothing more need be said.
And the guillotine is the only solution for both the traiter...and for liberals.
He’s a lawyer, that’s what’s wrong with him.
We'd had a lot of deserations at Valley Forge, Tarawa, the Bulge, just to name a few right off the top of my head.
He’s a lawyer, a Democrat, and a complete a-hole .... that’s the trifecta
Notice that while he was trying to ask his question to the egghead, the idiot kept looking at some talking points, probably sent over by the White House and printed out by his staff.
The Democrat and White House spin has already been re-written (again):
1. Bergdahl is a "victim" and "mentally fragile" and "needs our support"
2. He needs "time" and "we have to give it to him and his family"
3. The Bush wars are REALLY to blame here
4. All military are stressed out wacko jobs (hey.....maybe we should make all veterans ineligible of owning firearms....hmmmmmm)
5. Anyway, Berdahl is a victim, and you meanies better get off the subject
He’s a democrat ... therefore he’s evil.
Pretty stupid too, asking an egghead academic about harsh conditions in Afghanistan instead of the combat vet sitting right next to him...
Valley Forge, yes.
Can you provide a list of a “lot of desertions” at Tarawa and the Bulge.
I would be most interested to see that list. If you are talking about people who fled their post in the line of fire and such, fine. Men often run for their lives in combat regardless of what their orders were, but it isn’t the same thing that Bergdahl did.
If you can name someone who did what Bergdahl did, I would be all ears.
That assumes he wanted a truthful answer. Which a dem only wants when it moves the agenda FOREWARD!
Once the SHTF, it will be entertaining as hell watching them turn on each other.
And there’s really no guarantee this was bad leadership in he sense of doltish or uncaring. It might have been inexperienced leadership.
How would one “desert” on Tarawa? It’s a little island in the middle of nowhere and it was common knowledge that the Japanese would kill you dead on sight.
