Putin is Just Getting Started in Ukraine
The Daily Beast ^ | June 19, 2014 | Michael Weiss

Forget reports that the Russian president has wound down his campaign of interference in east Ukraine. Just the opposite is true— it’s getting much worse.

When Russian tanks used to roll into a foreign country, it was known as an invasion. Today it’s known as a “failure by Russia to de-escalate [a] situation.” That was State Department spokesperson Marie Harf’s comment on widespread reports, since corroborated by NATO, that three T-64 tanks, along with multiple rocket launchers and armored personnel carriers (APCs), entered east Ukraine from Russia last week. And such are the gifts of diplomatic nicety still being bestowed upon Russian President Vladimir Putin that the United States continues to treat him as a recalcitrant child at reform school rather than as a lying authoritarian who still seeks to partition or balkanize Ukraine. If only he’d behave himself…

No one out there to stop him. Candy ass world leaders who are more worried about gay rights and destroying the free world is not going to stop Putin.

He will take his time—until their is some bloody outrage—then he will act to defend Russian People from -—The neo-Nazis. He will use other means til then—this guy is alot smarter than a Hitler. He got the Criema with firing a shot or losing a man. He will do the same in East Ukraine—just watch—in a year the maps will need re-ajusting once again.

Yes.

Russia is not our enemy. The new Russia has been a growing Democracy for the last 30 years. Pro family, pro Christianity, flat tax, with 83%, last count approval of their leadership by the people.

They have a population of 130 million compared to our 330. They have economy lest than one tenth of ours. They are surrounded by Islamist and the opportunist EU, Nato and others eying their national resources.

They have all they can do just to hang onto what they have. What are we to be afraid of except for the bs propaganda we've been fed for the last 70 years.

A big factor for me, is Putin, verbally coming to the defense of Christians from the Islamist world wide.

I'm afraid we are faltering in conservative values, while Russia is growing. We should be competitive partners, not enemies.

Then why is Russia helping Iran and Syria? Why did Russia help Saddam Hussein? Why did Russia help Hezbollah?

As far as I know, which is very little, Russia trades with Iran, and is helping them build a nuclear power plant . I don't think they want them to have a bomb, do you?

Obama is supporting the rebel anti Christian Islamists in Syria, while Russia is supporting Assad. Who do you support?

Hezbolah? Don't know. What's the problem there ? Sounds like another hearsay accusation.

In Syria, the US is on the side of "freedom fighters" who slaughter Christians and destroy everything in their path. That is where the US has trained, armed and financed maniacs who have morphed into rogue terrorist group ISIS.

Assad is the only person between ISIS and the Mediterranean. Putin's on the side of civilization in Syria.

no, both are on the side of the status quo.

Assad because it’s his ass

Putin because Assad is a good paying customer.

Both are going to be disappointed in the coming reversal of Assad’s fortunes

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday offered Iraqi premier Nouri al-Maliki Russia's total backing for the fight against jihadist fighters who have swept across the Middle East country.

“Putin confirmed Russia's complete support for the efforts of the Iraqi government to speedily liberate the territory of the republic from terrorists,” the Kremlin said in a statement following a phone conversation between the two leaders.

Are we supporting the other side?

Where are the Russian tanks? Where are the divisions?....brigades?...battalions?

It would make sense for them to support the Shia Iranian side, but I’ll believe it when I see that first company of Russians with their boots in the sand.

Who said I supported the slaughter of Christians? Your bias apparently is running over reality

You’re supportive of the initiatives to topple Assad in Syria, and he protected Christians. The terrorists the US supported slaughters them.

Who said I supported the slaughter of Christians?

No one.

You were asked if you supported such slaughter in an attempt to open your eyes to what the opponents of the Assad regime are doing with American support.
