ANGRY VIRGINIA RESIDENTS SAY 'NO' TO OBAMA ADMINISTRATION'S PLAN TO HOUSE ILLEGALS

LAWRENCEVILLE, Virginia—Over 1,000 angry residents of the small, rural town here gathered at Brunswick High School on Thursday and reamed out local, state, and federal government officials for offering the St. Paul’s College building as temporary emergency shelter for 500 unaccompanied alien children (UACs) coming from Texas.

St. Paul’s, a historically black college, shut down five years ago after losing its accreditation.

“Right now we have a town—I can go home. I can get supper. At 9 o'clock at night I can come back to my office by myself, go in there and do work, come out at 11:30, get in my car and never worry about being harmed. I can’t do that anymore if y’all come,” said Pam Thomas. “You can’t put them over there and it’s not a prison anymore. It’s a closed facility.”

I understand the USG is planning to rent the college for 100,000 dollars a month to house them. For that much money the US government could buy each of them a one way plane ticket to Mexico City and be done with it.

What you will see in the short clips are angry residents, but if you listen carefully, there was a contract signed (prior to this meeting) and promises of giving these kids JOBS and more. Clip #8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrUpDQwRoz8) is a federal employee objects to violations of public process and she anticipates being a facilitator shortly. She also adds Feds are planning 600-800 facilities. The number of 500 teens and employees (case managers?) will increase the town’s population by 50% !!

The community learned of the plans just over a week ago. Federal officials say talks over using the school as a shelter began just a few months ago. However, the ink is already dry on a lease between the school and the federal government.

Hundreds of Central American kids who crossed the border without their parents were supposed to arrive at St. Paul’s College Thursday. Those plans stalled after the immense backlash. The proposed emergency shelter on the college campus would house them until they’re reunited with family members.
