After getting battered by critics for failing to confront a full-blown crisis at the US border, the White House rolled out a new plan to stem the flood of women and children crossing illegally that included ankle bracelets to monitor the migrants.
Other measures announced Friday would add judges, lawyers, and asylum officers to quickly process the human tide that has overwhelmed the immigration service and Border Patrol. Central American nations also would receive nearly $100 million in funding to help combat the problem.
We are surging our enforcement resources, said Obamas domestic policy adviser Cecilia Muñoz.
She said the administration would also push back on the misinformation being spread that migrants who sneak into the United States would be welcome to stay.
Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) first floated the idea of using ankle bracelets on immigrants awaiting court hearings to free space in overcrowded detention centers.

Where is the GOP?
I’ve been wondering that for years on any number of topics.
The GOP is in DC. nice and cozy. This crap doesn’t affect them or so they think. Wonder what they will think when they return to their districts that are overrun with illegals?
Hey congressman! Habla retirement?
People need to wake up to the Uniparty. It is quite real. The excuses they make have to stop. The Ghost of Ronaldus is no longer in da house.
Does that mean the first one goes on the ankle of mr. mulato?
They want to know where they are so they can get them to the right voting booth or booths on time.
We don’t need no stinkin’ bracelets!!
Ankle bracelets?
Yeah, that’ll work — until they get 5 miles inside the border, cut the bracelets off, and disappear into the general populace.
Good plan — well, close enough for government work.
That will those bracelets and monitoring cost the taxpayers?
Have the military fly um back. They have planes for moving large numbers of troops. Or just send them over the foot bridge..
Must have some crony in the ankle bracelet business.
So the taxpayers are going to pay these 4th world countries for the right to take their unwanted citizens? They should be paying us. The US taxpayer is rewarding these countries for their bad behavior.
CC
cut off their foreign aid, at the least
Maybe He should try throwing those millions to the VA
That will be as well planed, executed, managed as the ACA.
I guarantee you an ankle bracelet is a lot more expensive than a one way plane ticket back to their country of origin.
The way the Obama Administaion is dealing with the illegal aliens who are crashing our borders is to give them “permisos” , the equivalent to a parking ticket that obligates them to voluntarily show up for an immigration hearing 90 days in the future
Predictably, no one can document illegals aliens with no identity documents ever showing up for their hearing.
It's a standing joke south of the border that if they catch you sneaking across the border they give you a ticket and let you go if you promise to show up for a hearing which no one, even the guy issuing the ticket, ever expects you to.
Now they want to hand out a $1000 ankle tracking bracelet as a door prize with every permiso they give out to every illegal alien with not identity they catch jumping the border
It does not take a genius to figure out how this one works out
Obama is a lowly, sissy-coward for using the lives of innocent children to ram through his Amnesty for Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico Law.
As the truth comes out of Mexico, I predict that there will be many gory incidents of despicable brutality by Drug Gang Members as these innocent children traveled through the Drug Lord Gangs various territories.
At that time, Obama, Holder and Kerry should stand trial in the World Court for Human Trafficking of Children across International Borders.
Excellent, they can wear their ankle bracelets while they are on the other side of the border in Mexico.
Does that include Obama?
