According to an Associated Press report, a federal judge has held the EPA in contempt for destroying computer files sought after by a conservative group: Landmark Legal Foundation…

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth had ordered the EPA on Jan. 19, 2001, at the end of the Clinton administration, to preserve all documents relevant to a Freedom of Information Act request by Landmark regarding the federal agency’s contact with outside groups. That same day, EPA Administrator Carol Browner asked a technician to delete her computer files. Browner later testified that she was unaware of the court order and simply wanted to remove some games from her work computer.

Sheesh. As a one time employee of a contractor for a govt funded job, there ain't no way, no how we would have games on our computers other than maybe solitaire which came with it. Mighty nice of her to want to make sure her computer was pristeen for the incoming admin. Of course I'm sure there was someone out there that had some games.

FLASHBACK:

"Energy czar Carol Browner epitomized the secretive dealings of these offices when she advised auto industry executives this month to "to put nothing in writing, ever" about their meetings with her."

Reminds of this scene from the movie, “Sneakers” (1992) where Ben Kingsley’s character talks about crashing the whole system.

I think you are cutting them too much slack by using the word rampant. :>}

You can check off another reason I believe Hillary was behind the IRS targeting the TEA Party.

Not only is the IRS and other govt agencies targeting of political enemies a repeat of what the Clintons were doing, the cover up matches the methods used by the Clintons, but the knowledge of being able to recover info from computers hasn’t progressed from the Clinton years.

The person directing the cover up seems to be stuck in the 90’s technology.

I worked for the Navy for a year.
The week you started as part of orientation IT warned you anything you
Put in email was subject to review and you should consider anything sent in email as permanent. I’m sure the IRS is no different.

Our screen told us anytime we booted up to expect no privacy on the company/NASA supplied computers. Everything was open for viewing.

Don’t worry, the criminals have the justice department in their pocket. So the prosecutor will ensure any additional evidence of wrong doing is destroyed.

The repub house committees need to start another completely separate investigation and hearing into an ongoing criminal conspiracy to destroy government records.

This committee wouldn’t worry about the content of the govt records just the fact govt records are being destroyed.

Every time govt records go missing from other congressional hearings it is proof of the ongoing criminal conspiracy of the Obama WH to destroy govt records.

The EPA later acknowledged it had wiped clean the computer files from Browner and other top staff despite Lamberth’s order.
