America Unplugged, Young Marines Unit - This Week on Gun Talk Radio

Mandeville, LA – It’s a new hosting gig for former Navy SEAL Cade Courtley, a youth shooting program made possible with grants from the NRA, and more, this week on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk® Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.

Former U.S. Navy SEAL and author of SEAL Survival Guide: A Navy SEAL's Secrets to Surviving Any Disaster (http://amzn.to/1m0JdIU), Cade Courtley, is back on TV – this time as the host of a new TV show on Sportsman Channel. The show, America Unplugged, features eight people who are living a self-sustaining lifestyle, or “off the grid”, and airs on Thursdays at 8 pm Eastern. Courtley visits with Tom on Sunday to discuss this new show, the lifestyle, and his survival guide. Find out more at http://www.sealsurvivor.com, and watch some of America Unplugged here: http://bit.ly/1tQKUeh.

John Bushey is the Training Officer for the Hudson Mohawk Young Marines Unit in Albany, NY. Their purpose – “To teach youth members safe, responsible and ethical behavior with firearms and expose them to the exciting world of the shooting sports”. From the moment the unit was formed, they knew they wanted to have a marksmanship program, but lacking a lot of funding, weren’t sure how they would accomplish that. After finding out and applying for a youth program grant from the NRA, they now have the equipment and supplies and have hosted their first range day. Bushey stops by to talk about how the program got started, applying for the grants, and more. Find out more at www.hudsonmohawkyoungmarines.webs.com.

Also, it’s the last week to enter to win the Summer Scope Giveaway with Gun Talk and Trijicon this month! Trijicon is giving one TA11 3.5 x 35 ACOG riflescope with Dual Illuminated Red Horseshoe .223 Ballistic Reticle and a TA51 Mount away to the lucky Grand Prize winner! Enter now at http://www.guntalk.com/win.

That’s a real nice piece of glass. I have a TA01 (2003), one of the last commercially available before Iraq War pulled all of them off dealers’ shelves for US Military. They’re even nicer now.

Something new for me; never seen it before. I got a box (20) of Liberty Ammo 78gr .45cal ACP HPs (1900fps) from my cousin on Saturday, and it's some amazing PD loads. Loud, heavily fragmenting at 2" in wound channel, and a small metal 'ashtray' disc spins-off all over the place inside the ballistic gelatin, creating a massive wound. Very small recoil. Rips good, tight groups in paper to 15-20yds.

What was that airgun type you mentioned a few weeks ago? Was it a .17HM2 rimfire? My cousin has one and the teeny-tiny HP bullet looks like a mini-5.56/.223cal! 4,000fps! Shot it on Saturday. Amazing rifle.

Cool video.

Yeah, I put Linux on my older Dell laptop. It runs fine, does what I need and is free. Also don’t need an anti-virus program as security is built in.

Did I mention it’s free!!
