Actually, I'd would guesstimate 70% of those coming to the West already have some type of serious emotional instability, due to many reasons & thereafter changes in culture once they migrate and arrive here. I only say that cautiously & based on those I know.
I'm a psychologist. So, 'serious mental disorder' needs to be qualified, in clinical terms, in my view. But I get your point.
I didn’t consider the adjustment to a different culture, but yes this would also add to their mental stability.
I’ve read several articles from those who have treated Muslims which is where I drew the 85% figure from. Of course I wouldn’t tackle how serious their issues are from a clinical view....but my understanding they generally have at least one major mental disorder coupled with “other” issues.
Even so 70% is still a huge percentage....and one I’m not surprised at all by. I have worked with those involved in cults who also use indoctrination and as much deception. but rare for a lifetime. I see how difficult it is for them to come away from that which they’ve been taught and “believe”.
