Country music star Kix Brooks has been recruited by Sen. Lamar Alexander for a new radio ad to defend his conservative record in the Senate.
I like having a United States Senator that stays true to his conservative roots, and keeps his feet on the ground here at home, Brooks says.
Brooks, one half of superstar country music duo Brooks & Dunn, is also the host of the popular radio show American Country Countdown and Kickin It With Kix.
Brooks reminds Tennessee anglers that Alexander worked with Rand Paul to fight the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers attempt to restrict fishing below the dams.

Brooks & Dunn are old timers. They were putting out records a quarter century ago. Not to be associated with the “modern” country music of today.
Not gonna help you, RINO
Quarter century, eh? Still don’t think Hank done it that a way.
“Boot Scootin’ GOPe”
The internals from the Alexander camp must not be looking good. Then one wonders what is in Kix’s closet that the NSA has record of?
I think this ad first appeared in 2013 during the flap about the new lock in Kentucky
Yup.
I do not listen to that kind of radio, so I wouldn’t know.
I saw it on TV
Then again, a bird sings prettily too, but it doesn't mean there's a brain in it's head.
well this lucky guy wont have much work to do for all the money he will be paid...
there’s not that much to defend..
Article says it is a radio spot and there a You Tube of it at the source.
I did go to You Tube to give a listen and picked out “Play Something Country.” Sounded like they “borrowed” ZZ Top’s interpretation of 12 bar blues (as in “Sharp Dressed Man”) and made a song celebrating a sexually aggressive female on the prowl.
Compare and contrast to “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels”.
I guess dusting off the old flannel shirt and pickup truck aren’t enough this time. Gotta bring in some country music talent, as if they are the judges and jury on what is conservative. Its time for Lamar to go.
LOL! Give the useful idiots more facetime. Throw the Dixie Chicks in Lamar.

Yep, that was one of the burning issues of the day. I’m glad that Alexander was able to go to bat for us on that instead of spending time on relatively unimportant things like border enforcement, reducing immigration levels, reducing spending, cutting federal departments, reeling in the IRS, EPA, etc., etc.

I was remarking that I thought their music generally pleasing, I wasn't assessing it for it's moralistic virtue.
Compare and contrast to It Wasnt God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.
Grew up listening to older country because of my folks, but never liked the majority of it. The nasality of the tone is like fingernails on a chalkboard.
