No, it is the Obama Administration’s response to the Iraqi Civil War that is pushing up gas prices. Give the green light to the XL pipeline, and you will see gas prices fall. Open up the Gulf of Mexico to new drilling (i.e. US drilling - not Chinese drilling), and you will see prices fall even more.

Would you believe that gas was CAD$1.42 a litre the other day in Canada? Working through the conversions, that’s US$5.78 a gallon. And Canada is the largest supplier of oil to the US...go figure.

The most frustrating aspect of this story is that if the Keystone XL pipeline was approved TODAY, gas prices would tumble based on the futures market.

IMHO, the continued delay of the pipeline approval for crass partisan purposes constitutes a 'high crime'.
